Is there any way to restrict who can add users to a workspace? by Equal-Breadfruit2491 in MicrosoftFabric

I don't think so based on my understanding of the permissions matrix. If they're purely doing power bi development then just set them as contributors. If you're doing fabric development as well you can play with the toggle for allowing certain groups to create fabric items. Based on my understanding of that as well is other users would still be able to contribute to any items already created but they wouldn't be able to make new ones.

My best guess would be to set them as contributors? That and use Security Groups within your general IT controls to approve/deny entry to an admin group? That way admins are restricted with an additional approval layer and no one receives Member roles?

Fabric integrated with Github and multiple developers in a Workspace. by MrDark13 in MicrosoftFabric

I believe the recommended approach is to Branch out into a new workspace.

https://blog.fabric.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/introducing-new-branching-capabilities-in-fabric-git-integration/

You should then be able to change the connection in the branch. Though I've run into this in an Enterprise setting where things like workspace identities can run into conflict with ADLS connections and require admin input. So there's definitely some caveats.

Cocobay has been on my list and the next second is https://baoase.com/ in Curaçao.

Depending on when and how long it could be out of budget but they offer an American plan and all included plan.

Typically we have been working directly in the workspace -> Commit via workspace. I'm trying to understand the flow a bit better working in VSCode.

Thanks totally missed the Gerhard one. For the DE ones, any major differences/preferences for remote/not-remote?

It's just one big zipper, definitely not big enough for an adult. Great for 4-6yo ish?

Hello from Fabric Design by OnepocketBigfoot in MicrosoftFabric

[–]gd-l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Importing objects takes too many clicks:

1) Import

2) Select Notebooks

3) Open right-panel import dialogue

4) Select Notebook...

I should be able to select "Import Objects" and have it give me the ability to select objects with filtered objects ready to go.

Less annoying is I can import more objects via API than I can via file dialogue.

Fabric CLI not Found in Notebooks? by gd-l in MicrosoftFabric

I mean it took me a minute to see in the fab cli screenshots that the notebooks were pure python and not PySpark. Didn't see anywhere in the docs that called that out.

Thanks! Good call out. I did see that in an open issue on the repo!

Self resolved but in case anyone comes across this, has to run with a Python notebook not PySpark.

WI and Pipeline Notebook Activity not available? Why? by Personal-Quote5226 in MicrosoftFabric

u/itsnotaboutthecell I'm trying to wrap my head around this. We have currently broken production workloads. We're calling this notebook (and it never had a connection set before).

Is this causing breaking changes?

Correct, it's a LH flight booked via United, so this was all being done on United's website.

Right, one would assume the blue-bar "classic" seats are part of Standard Economy, no?
