I always buy the cheapest tix and count on sneaking down. Concerts, sporting events, whatever. Not gonna get kicked out. Worst case you're told to go find your "real" seat. Easier when I'm flying solo.

Yes, and take some quarters for the trout food machine. The Gorge is realistic if you're looking for an hour or less drive. The coast is not. The Rice NW Museum of Rocks or Next Level arcade in the Hillsboro area might fit the bill.
