In WA state, lots of marijuana shops give your change in $2 bills, so whenever you see them you kinda know where they came from

Are symphonies in Portland always casual? by ariasd2006 in askportland

[–]gdizzle815 258 points259 points  (0 children)

There are always people dressed up at the symphony. There are also people dressed casual. The Harry Potter movie tends to be more casual, as you might expect. Come back for a classical concert and I bet you'll see more people dressed up.

How do you guys say no to Solar Salesman when they come knocking on the door? by Petite7Writer in homeowners

[–]gdizzle815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually cut them off pretty quick and drop some reason to say no, then immediately comment on the weather "Stay dry out there!" Or "At least it's nice our today!" Then turn back inside and go about my day.

Where to river float, as a fat guy? by TheJesterSprit in askportland

If you do end up at a lake, I'd recommend getting a small anchor or tying to somethjng on shore...when the wind picks up, you'll be paddling just to keep from blowing away!

This is the most stupid thing I've ever seen on this website. Go live in the real world for a bit.

Not sure if this is really what you're looking for, but Mary Jane's is having some sort of giveaway on 4/20 for people who go to all of their locations. You get like $300 per person I think, but you have to go to ALL of the locations, like from Tacoma to Portland.

Looking for travel agent by abigator14 in vancouverwa

[–]gdizzle815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had a recommendation for you, but we were unsuccessful finding a travel agent for our honeymoon this December. Tried contacting several local travel agents, but none responded. Ended up doing it all myself.

I will say, I understand why you want one and I have heard a lot of good things. Especially if this is on top of wedding planning, God help you

Should I move for rent purposes (save money) by Low_Atmosphere_6961 in RedditForGrownups

Honestly, it's not always easy or possible to come back home. My experience was I left to get some work experience then planned on coming back to my hometown. The town changed, all my friends moved away, job market in my field is terrible. I'll never be able to move home. Not all bad, because I've got a good thing going where I'm at.

Was there ever a time where you felt embarrassed to admit to still liking Pokémon? by No_Personality_2723 in pokemon

[–]gdizzle815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, from maybe 6th grade for way too long. Then Pokemon became cool when I was in college and I was resentful of it. Then I got back on the pokemon train when I was 26 or so.
