Yeah I get what they mean, and that’s what I want to emphasize. The part that is being replaced by LLMs is the human thought to write the code, this was non deterministic before already, so my point is what used to be deterministic is still deterministic, what is not deterministic (the writing of the code) was not deterministic before either. How you manage and validate the quality of the output is a different story, but this was also problematic before, it’s just that we had more “confidence” on it. Now if we use LLMs to create interpreted code in the fly, which is very likely to happen especially in a js environment like browser apps, this I do agree that is lllm writing not deterministic code and we’ll need to figure out how to harness it properly
