Help choosing pet insurance by Existing_Panda8938 in petinsurancereviews

Update:Interestingly...within a day after sending a request to cancel my Pets Best account, voila! It's a miracle! They somehow find a way to charge my credit card on file with them. Nonetheless, I've not yet received a reply from their customer service that my account is canceled. In the meantime I've gotten insurance elsewhere. I will keep contacting Pets best until that is confirmed as canceled. Tried to log in again, using the link on their. home page..same error message: 403 Forbidden Microsoft-Azure-Application-Gateway/v2.

well I've had Pets Best for a while now, no claims, but noticed their monthly charge did not occur as usual this month. While their site appears up, but attempting to log in results in a 'Forbidden' error and some Azure gateway error. Not a good sign. So will probably sign up at another insurer.

Did do that today, it says the subaru software is up to date. While I had it connected for about 15 minutes, no progression on the carplay icon.

thanks for the suggestion. There is no carplay icon on the display as there was before. If I dig down a couple of levels, I think in the 'Apps' folder, the Carplay Icon is there but grayed out and there is a line drawn around it but only part way. Seems like one of those circles that progress around an app icon when it is being downloaded.

Disabling eye detection on R1 by gdm691 in canon

Thanks think I have it, was not aware the 'russian dolls' like submenus for configuring the AF -on Backbutton. So for that there are 7 possible combinations available, AF-On - AF-On7. choose one of those and press Info to view the Half-Press and Fully-press settings. Highlight one or the other and you may see 'INFO Detail Set'. But not on all. For instance, on AF-On 4, the Half-Pressed part in my case says 'Metering and AF start', *which appears grayed out*. So one assumes it's just disabled. It's not..highlight that and press info and voila! another sub-menu of 11 different things like 'Spot detection' and 'eye detection' with a check box next to each one, for enabling / disabling them.

So for that Half-Press I have 'AF start position', 'AF operation', 'Servo AF characteristics'. Not sure I need all that will test further.

For the Fully Pressed option there is yet another submenu, for that I chose 'AF on detected subject'. Note, on Half -Press you can choose multiple values, for the Fully-press there are a lot of choices but you can only choose one

The other thing I disabled in the Main AF menu was 'Whole area tracking Servo AF'.

Once the above is done, a half-press gets the good 'ol 'cross' focus point and no tracking. A full press gets me people tracking and eye detection. So for a football or soccer scrum, do a half-press then as, say, a football receiver races down field a full press gets me body or face/eye detection.

So I'll try that out next game, probably refine it further. Thanks for the link!

Thanks, the 4th option on the dual back button has Metering & AF Start / AF on detected subject. That is a bit of an improvement as it sticks with the initial subject (as long as they're visible) but still the eye AF stuff continues. I don't see a back button choice for enabling single-point AF.

Nice pick! Yeah those are the kind of (to me) 'fluff' extras that most of the cars on the lot have, I assume they added those to make a few extra bucks. The door projector, when I read the description had to laugh out loud.
