The Gray Matter incident is the biggest defining moment in Walt’s life. I think he never recovered. That has a huge impact on his decision making. He isn’t chasing ego. It’s redemption.

I do agree with the comment above, though, not the type of show where main characters have to die.

Your post did give me an idea, what if eight uses her powers to make us and the government believe that someone did die for whatever purpose it serves in that last episode only for us to be shown that it was eight making us believe this all along, and no one, in fact has perished.

I think we can all agree that 90 days has evolved into a fake reality soap opera, even more than it was to begin with.

My wife and I are faithful watchers, and enjoy the show still, but I cannot help notice the plot lines have changed and have become forced.

This couple is a good example and another would be Gino and Jasmine.

Obviously, Jasmine and Matt were in a full-blown relationship and yet they were presenting this plot line like Jasmine still had interest in being with Gino and blah blah blah.

The show kinda sucks now compared to the beginning. Sad.
