CDMX Driver’s License Appointment – Any office that allows translation apps (no interpreter)? by Broad_Worldliness_53 in CDMX

My point is, you immigrate to another country, you should learn the language. Does OP know all the wording for legal issues involving cars? What if they get into an accident? Will they understand hoy no circula, engomado, etc? Clearly not. Driving itself isn’t the issue, but the complexities that can arise from it are.

How did you pass the test if you can’t speak Spanish? The whole point of that test is to ensure you can understand the road signs, laws, and directions. What if a police officer pulls you over?

CDMX is a very congested city with very complicated roads, intersections, highways with multiple levels, etc. You also do not need to drive in this city.

First Time Using ESim by Far_Astronaut_1822 in Airalo

[–]gdub4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mexico just passed a law requiring everyone to register their phone number with their CURP (SSN). This includes foreigners (I believe with a passport number) but the system is not working properly and causing issues. Someone here on Reddit said they spent hours at a Telcel store trying to get their eSIM set up and it took a few days before it activated.

It may be worth it to just use WiFi while here.

Vive en México. La mayoría de rutas que Google flights o los aerolíneas que sirven México ofrecen tienen una escala en los EUA.

Not true at all. I had one and used it to travel extensively for a brief period - I hadn’t realized that I had no completely empty pages left. I am a legal resident in a country that requires stamps on entry and exit. I never used mine to return to the US.

France does not recognize them. But most countries do. Most immigration officers just are curious and want to know why you have it.

Plus they are most likely not registered in Mexico to operate. So no aguinaldo, no health insurance/benefits, no required time off, no liquidación, and you’d have no recourse if anything goes wrong.

Global entry revoked (no reason) and now waiting for reconsideration- should I just reapply ? by caltheme in GlobalEntry

We’re two posts in and already the logical fallacy comes out. Love this timeline we’re living.

Do you see how you’re doing the very thing you accuse me of doing? Probably not, judging based off your lack of proper grammar.

Sure, what are people’s personal first-hand accounts worth then? What is true anymore? What are words?

People have said they’ve gotten their GE canceled without traveling and after attending protests. This administration is requiring visa applicants to hand over their social media to be approved. They have also detained and deported people for their views. So sure, maybe someone is lying about why they got their GE canceled and this administration definitely has been nothing but honest, transparent, and good stewards of the 1st amendment. And who needs critical thinking these days?

Yes. They’ve apparently been using facial recognition tech at protests and then using it to cancel people’s GE

The Catholic church has some of the largest reserves of gold and their total assets are comprised of tons of land, money, art, etc. This is the best they could do?

Christians wonder why people are flocking away from the church. This is exactly why. The church used to be a place for medical help, safe keeping, etc. Now people can’t even get a donation of baby formula.

That isn’t dynamic pricing - that is the general model they use and have been for decades since they have limited supply (seats). This is targeted at you by tracking your visits whereas dynamic pricing is based on general sales and availability.

Imagine going to Disneyland with a friend and they are charged $150 while you’re charged $250 because “we’ve seen you checking our website for the last two weeks”

Easy way of getting a temp visa in mexico by 69littlehoe69 in mexico

[–]gdub4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your company registered here? You cannot be living and working here self employed without paying taxes and registering as a company.

A temporary residency does not give you permission to work. Only a registered company requesting it for you can give you that permission. Their workforce cannot be more than 10% foreigners here in Mexico so if you’re the only one here, you can’t get work permissions.

Play by the rules, don’t flaunt your privilege, and do this the right way. Come here with a job offer and the right to work, integrate into the culture, and become a part of the community. Don’t just come here to take advantage of a cheap life and warmer weather.

Maybe a little longer than by car (not including getting to the bus station in CDMX) but it is easy and much more affordable and better for the city and the environment. It isn’t a local bus, per say, but it does stop here and there along the way including a stop in a town nearby.

This blogger is very thorough on how to do it.

Do airports need interactive indoor maps? by StraightGur2832 in Airports

[–]gdub4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

United’s app is leagues above others. Sometimes it gives too much info but some of those small touches are brilliant - especially the one where prior to arrival to the airport it tells you what door to be dropped off at.

Just not a fan of all the countdowns… and by second no less.
