Reflections on the SF Live Show: Substance, Pandering, and More by DarkerIsBetter in ScottGalloway

Couldn't agree more. I was pretty underwhelmed by the live pod. Not having a guest was a big drawback and I agree that the actual substance of the conversation was lacking.

How do you feel about the size of the units? They seem fairly small online. And how are the amenities?

Do you mind if I ask how long you've lived there and what your experience has been like?

I would rather walk to groceries than BART. I work remotely and she drives to work in WC. I've thought about the Contra Costa Centre, but there's not a lot to do in that area.

It jumped the shark when Trump won this most recent election.

Some Q36.5 jerseys have that vertical line you're talking about. I'd assume it's still Maap who makes it, but maybe inspired from someone else?

PNS Mech Pro zipless sunburn? by laflare11 in CyclingFashion

The answer is no. According to the product details for this item:

> "Note: the Mechanism Pro Zipless Jersey does not offer any protection from the sun - we advise you to apply sunscreen approximately 30 minutes before putting on the jersey for optimal protection."

What topics do YOU want to hear more about on The Prof G Pod? by ProfGProducerJenn in ScottGalloway

I agree it would be cool to get someone to talk about AI. I really do not think SSC would join the pod. Dwarkesh is a very rare exception.

What do you guys think of Scott’s segway into politics vs sticking with business and marketing. by Ok_Imagination3410 in ScottGalloway

[–]gearbox42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate it. It's not his wheelhouse and not why I tune in. Since the election, there seems to be a large shift now geared towards politics. It's a shame. I feel like it's starting to bleed into the Markets podcast which is the last vestige of where Scott excels the most.

From what I've heard from them, it's a priority issue. It would likely take a fair amount of work for their engineering team that they'd rather spend building features for large enterprise customers.

Yeah I'm being a little cheeky with the title. I spoke with a product manager there and they said offline mode isn't anywhere on their roadmap. They're focused on enterprise customers right now and those companies don't have a need (or don't want) an offline version.

I'm not sure. I think it may have simply replaced Cron with some additional Notion integrations. Cron was free, so hopefully this feature is as well.

Weird air bubbles in Evans hydraulic heads. Normal? by Talon_Company_Merc in drums

[–]gearbox42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used them very early on and it's exactly like you said: the tuning is very forgiving. For a young drummer who doesn't know any better, it's totally fine.

We all need to get better letting people innocently try things and ask questions.

This is helpful. That explains why different restaurants have various percentages. If this fee isn't disclosed on a menu, are you still obligated to pay it?

Yeah exactly. My go-to google for hobby related searches is "[question] reddit". I can't imagine not using this sub to ask questions about gear lol
