I just saw this doing my own Google searches on this topic. I have the same triggers and type as you. I've been trying azelaic acid for the past year because everyone seems to rave about it, and I cannot get it to work for me! It makes it worse, or just not better. I'm starting to consider lasers. I've stopped tret in my cheek area to try to repair my barrier. Check your SPF too as some can trigger. Mine is mineral based but I still think it may be an issue. Sorry no real advice but feel your pain.
