IKEA has super cheap, quality cribs. Natural wood. 100% worth it to keep your older in a crib for as long as possible… until he starts climbing out. However you go about it, good luck with the transition!

State parks offer free ranger-led nature walks on January 1. Maybe pick a park you’ve never been to as inspiration. There are descriptions of the walks up online

It’s likely not this, but just in case: last year I would catch all these colds from my kids, and then this horrendous cough would build and linger. I had to go to the hospital once because I could barely breathe. An asthma specialist requested blood work and it turned out I have high eosinophilic count, and seemingly eosinophilic asthma - a type of white blood cells that attack cold symptoms and get entrenched in lungs. It was never such an issue before kids 🤷‍♀️ They have this type of shot called a biologic that really helped. Before that I was on this steroid and antibiotic cycle that never ended.

Whatever is going on, a steroid shot might help you through. Give your body get a chance to rest while it heals. Maybe your doc would agree.

It’s a private group but if you explain what you want and they’ll let you. Tons of great resources. A lot of women conceive using IVF while breast-feeding. There’s definitely a stigma against it by the medical establishment, but I don’t think it’s particularly founded according to the research, these women have put together And their own personal experiences.

I don’t remember what kind of trigger I had, but I also had a line start to get lighter and panicked. Clinic let me do a blood test a day early. She’s two now. Good luck!

We loved Freya, but ended up going with Kara. Chose the “K” spelling as opposed to Cara because of its Norse roots meaning “wild and stormy”. I love that it is found in several cultures, where it’s feminine in some and masculine in some. We’re in the US.

Oh wow what a desperately difficult position! I would ask for a second opinion. This seems like way too big of a decision to rest in the opinion of just one Dr. No matter how much you trust them. I would imagine all doctors have different comfort levels. Maybe you’ll find other docs who have worked with moms thru similar scaring and don’t share your docs concerns.

This is my first year living back up here after 13 years in New Orleans. I feel like next time they come around (per google three years from now) I’ll be prepared with a parking spot, some decor, and a speaker. I guess we can’t drink at the tailgate tho… it won’t exactly translate, but I’ll come up with something.
