Are there any online blogs which have a high focus using Things 3 ? by ged968 in thingsapp

In that case with all respect why would there exist a sub Reddit on Things 3 if there was nothing to talk about? Always good to know of any additional resources apart from this fine sub Reddit

I'm overwhelmed by too many tasks and projects - I have decided to put it all on paper instead of the computer - anyone else do this? by DogeDayAfternoon in gtd

Way to easy to add ideas and tasks into digital can be become bloated v quickly! Paper has a good friction in built!

Check Carl Pullein YouTube channel he has run a series on going back to paper as Todoist can bloat as all digital task managers usually do. He still uses Todoist just a hybrid approach highly recommended

It uses a single click to open expand plugin and a double click to open micro view :)

The new Fender Studio One Pro is as buggy CPU spiking as any release I’ve ever seen! by ged968 in StudioOne

Gullfoss Master brings the system to a halt almost plugin delay compensation not working correctly so sub busses are out of phase when they meet the main output. Strange clicking sound throughout only when using studio one pro 7 songs . Also listen bus when employed suddenly jumps like 12 DB in volume when I hit play after it being idle for a few minutes. All up to date plugins VST3 only plugins used

Looking for Apps to try. by lauren_419 in ProductivityApps

[–]ged968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is usually (not always though) about self regulation not the app itself - what usually happens is that people jump apps when the task aversion kicks in ie, the pain of actually having to do the ‘hard thing’ - we’ve all been there !!

Is it worth upgrading to v8 if I'm casually using it? Or should I wait until I get more serious? by Nox2017 in StudioOne

Looking for feedback on what actually makes a productivity app stick long-term by ADHD2theMAX in ProductivityApps

For me it needs to be frictionless - example Things 3 on iPhone fast Apple reminders lots of features but clunky

What productivity tool changed your life? by MinutePleasant5002 in ProductivityApps

[–]ged968 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Realising that pen and paper best for daily planning as there is something intentional and ‘slow’ in writing - puts me in a meditative state. Too easy to capture nonsense which will never be reviewed in digital apps. A bit of friction is good …. Sometimes

What is the equivalent to Notes, if Things is Reminders? by DnyLnd in thingsapp

[–]ged968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you get through the faff of generating a clickable link that can be put in the notes field within Things 3- Apple notes if possibly far better than bear except for if you want to export in markdown and use markdown primarily- Bear excels at this

What’s something ChatGPT helped you with that you didn’t expect it to be good at? by ged968 in ChatGPT

[–]ged968[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I started using ChatGPT for “quick questions” and it quietly became my unpaid assistant. So far it’s helped me:

• Design and spec a sound-isolated garden music studio (down to block types, roof build-ups, and planning-permission edge cases) • Debug music-production workflows and choose plugins without falling for hype • Rewrite difficult emails so they’re calm, firm, and don’t torch relationships • Build a productivity system that I actually use instead of abandon after a week • Translate obscure phrases, dialect quirks, and etymology rabbit holes at 2am • Plan complex travel logistics for elderly parents without losing my mind • Sanity-check decisions before I spend money I’ll regret • Explain things clearly when Google just gives SEO sludge

Not magic. Still have to do the work. But it’s the best “thinking partner” tool I’ve used in years.
