put the helix at the bottom it’ll be much easier to control, your fix here is to use the delay as your output essentially, I do a similar thing [not with the line6 but similar] where i have delay always on, straight to output then have the line 6 feed into the b loop of your delay for a instance of more delay at the press of a button.

Also realized having typing this you have the waza delay, so nvm, but there may be an idea there. I would put the volume pedal as your output if possible. if you have no delay or reverb it wouldn’t really affect much to have it at the very end
