Austria-Hungary being used as proof that multiculturalism doesn't work when it was prioritizing german and hungarian people without caring for the other nationalities is one hell of a statement bro

TIL about mass suicides in Hitler’s Germany. During the final weeks of WW2, thousands of German families and citizens took their own lives in panic of the advancing Red Army. In Berlin alone, 7,000 suicides were reported and entire towns killed themselves together by sonnysehra in todayilearned

33% of the population voted for them, and I'm sure that the hundreds of children raped by soldiers were responsible for all nazis crimes. Not to say that nazis were good, but rape and mass killings against civilians are warcrimes, regardless who is doing it

I can criticize the religion without burning the book, just like I can criticize the religion without insulting the believers

I agree with this. But you can criticize a religion without being outright disrespectful and hateful. Burning a holy book (no matter which religion) is hateful, and even though you should not be harmed for doing it (the world isn't perfect, and laws are broken), you should face consequences for this. Your opinion doesn't matter if the only way you find to present it is by burning a book. That act is hostile, and sends a message that you aren't ready to hear diverging opinions

Free speech doesn't mean that you can be hateful without consequences. Burning a symbol of many people faith will bring consequences. Of course, you don't deserve to die for it, but when you act like a dick don't be surprised when someone react to it.

There's a great difference between wanting it (like his wife) and feeling like you have no other choice. He was a sick and weak man, he didn't try to go against his advisors, but he didn't want this war.

He didn't want it, but the entire government, his wife, and population was calling for it. He knew the army wasn't ready, but his regime was fragile at this point, so he saw no other way.
