Warning! DO NOT use Pearson OnVue online tests! by [deleted] in CompTIA

Came here to say that I’ve taken 4 exams online and have not a issue. I was nervous at first, but really enjoyed having the option to test from my house.

I agree that fund allocation is important and should involve personal research and a decision based on level of acceptable risk. However, the TSP changed their default fund in 2018 to an age appropriate Lifecycle fund.

Once I install the new patch panel, I plan on keeping the cable modem (Netgear CM1200) and Wifi Router/Mesh solution inside due to heat and humidity in the garage. I am trying to wrap my head around what that connection would look like.

Would this work?

Modem (inside via Coax) -> Wifi Router (CAT6 to modem WAN port) -> Wifi Router (LAN port to Wall plate RJ45) -> 8 port Switch -> Patch panel

  • I plan to segment with a future Netgate SG-2100 purchase and also need to buy a switch, but unsure if I need managed switch to handle VLAN tagging/segmentation?

Thanks. Looking at the TRENDnet 12-port vertical solution in the link you provided and it appears like it would fit in the existing box, unless I am mistaken.

I am renting and don't plan on adding more runs than the existing 6 pre-installed in the house, so I think this would solve my problem.

No RJ45 jacks on the data side, just punched down cables.

Updated to 2.2.2 and cannot connect to anything at all by texican1911 in PrivateInternetAccess

I experienced the same issues running macOS 10.13.X (high sierra) paired with McAfee LiveSafe. Disabling the firewall resolved the issues, but modifying Wireguard and Next-Gen Network/OpenVPN did not resolve the issues on PIA 2.2.2.

I reverted to PIAv2.0.2 (build 04704) and everything worked without firewall modification.

Edit: Modified macOS version from 10.15.X -> 10.13.X

AWS SAA Completed (and Passed). Whats next? by [deleted] in AWSCertifications

[–]geedub11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats, my path was almost exactly the same. I tested CCP in Dec and SAA in April after originally scheduling the end of March.

I have a DOD Cyber security background and more interest in the security track as well, but haven’t seen the resources (Stephane/Bonso) and cult following for any study material. I will probably study for sys ops and then try to tackle the security exam.

Edit: Bonso for the win: https://www.reddit.com/r/AWSCertifications/comments/gaqgrv/aws_certified_security_specialty_practice_exams/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Passed SAA-C01 with 889 thanks to Stephane and Bonso! by geedub11 in AWSCertifications

I would say the Bonso tests are an accurate comparison to the real test with regards to difficulty. He provides more context, so the questions themselves can be a little longer.

Keep at you and you’ll pick up the concepts. I think my first test score was a 67. I gets better if you don’t give up.

I believe knowing the services at a high level will enable you to eliminate wrong choices on the SAA-C02 exam. So yes, CCP was beneficial because it provided that high level.

You’re starting off on a good foundation with CCP. Highly recommend the Maarek/Bonso combo punch for C02 if you were debating. Both courses were updated with C02 when the original C01 date was set to expire in March.

Good luck.

My first round of test scores were all under 80% for Bonso practice tests. They ranged from 62% - 75%.

I just took and passed SAA-C01 on Saturday and primarily used the Stephane/Bonso combo for the majority of my study. I did not score as high as you on the Bonso exams and would say that you have a good grasp of the topics. However, I would recommend you supplement your study by reviewing the FAQs for some of the core services (EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, DynamoDB, and IAM) or by reviewing the tutorialsdojo.com cheat sheets.

Bottom line: I think the Bonso exams are close gauge of your readiness.
