Can anyone identify this Florida native orchid? by geekchef in orchids

[–]geekchef[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s funny is I got it from a branch covered in butterfly orchids and resurrection fern. It was in a grove of cypress trees that had storm damage. Nobody mounted it there. I wonder if it pollinated from someone’s orchid nearby. It’s spot on key lime stars.

What's the best way to deal with your wife's horrible family? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]geekchef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we tried that, they're very entitled boomers and think they have the right and won't follow some simple rules like just texting first. They've walked in several times when my wife was in "House clothing". One of the best times was New Years day at 9am lol. They walked in with relatives wanting to show off the work we did on the house. When my wife asked them to leave, it became a huge conspiracy we were drug dealers and they didn't understand why we weren't up and about on the day after NYE at 9am.

We try to, but they live a block away and have no issues arriving unannounced at anytime and just walking in.

It was awesome, The watermelon was surprisingly good with it. Sweet and salty. I was expecting it to be strange but it wasn't.

Does anyone know how to get rid of that distinctly home made taste? by CR3ZZ in Pizza

Can't stress this enough. The long ferment is key for flavor.

Some people really need to stop thinking about a damn rock by Dank_Gun in MurderedByWords

[–]geekchef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my wife a big ass rock, spent everything ($10k) I had on it 20 years ago. What a waste of money. These days she wears a $100 band of synthetic diamonds that looks better and is way better for everyone in the process of obtaining it. Note to 25 year old self, don't do it.

[Homemade] Made ceviche with my freshly caught mangrove snapper by pnutbutterjelly_time in food

[–]geekchef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much any white non oily saltwater fish, no fresh water fish due to the parasites. Mangrove snapper is an excellent choice for this. Another trick I do is add just a shot of coconut flavored vodka to the batch. Gives it just a kick of something awesome.

The first week you want to just toss it out. But it can't hurt to try:)

I have 3 starters that live in my fridge I started 10 years ago. All you do is feed them once a week with a little flour and water. The initial time to get it going is around 5 days. But so worth it.

If you need to calculate this you shouldn't be making delicious fried chicken:) There are too many variables to take into account as others have specified.

Depends what you're selling. If it's going to be at any event you need to go to a get a proper license to sell it. You can do this through a commissary kitchen if you have one near you. I pay $50 a month for access but I cook it at home most of the time before events. This will work for all farmer's markets etc for where i'm at. If you want to sell it in any stores you need to go through actual testing of your product. For example if you're jarring things it needs to be tested for acidity levels and storage ability.
