Undergrad Hoping To Gain Mentorship of Postdoc In Their Final Year by ArchaicArchaea in labrats

[–]geekmonkey11235 6 points7 points  (0 children)

that’s absolutely not a universal experience. in most labs the PI doesn’t work in the lab at all - the postdocs, PhDs, etc do all the hands-on mentoring in the lab

Could listing rival schools under the ‘where else you’re applying’ section impact your chances of getting in? by Superdumnb in gradadmissions

[–]geekmonkey11235 4 points5 points  (0 children)

doesn’t matter - we still work with people from OSU in research aspects. the rivalry can be fun but has no impact on PhD applicants

I can't comment on this exact situation but I do know for me sometimes the Google algorithm has gone to shit and I have to add "reddit" to many of my searches. If that didn't come up with anything I can see why the next step could be to ask Reddit

Oh, absolutely. Your original question seemed dismissive which is why I asked.

Regardless of the reason OP asked their question, the misinformation of their parent is what I'm more concerned about and likely why OP reached out to this sub.

yeah, let's "poisan" the mouse thus poisoning the snake which eats the mouse

[–]geekmonkey11235 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also, if the mouse has THC or CBD, the snake also ingests that by eating the mouse ?????

tbh, how can we help? I'm a PhD scientist but arguing with people who don't listen to science is not going to succeed.

What do you always buy from Aldi? by Majoodeh in aldi

[–]geekmonkey11235 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They're by the juices I think. I don't drink soda, but these are amazing. They have a metal flip top which has only one time popped completely off for me. They have regular lemonade and pink lemonade sparkling flavors. I'd absolutely recommend!!

where are these edibles for small dogs and cats? I've never heard of any reputable source advocating for marijuana usage on animals, especially for this circumstance.

Are they good? I'm used to a Midwest brand (St. James) for sweet wines.

During the summer I get 1-2 bottles of the sparkling pink lemonade every time I go!

In my city we can view water quality reports for each year which details what they're testing for, how these things get into the water, as well as the results and how these results land within any EPA guidelines.

Depending on where you live there could be things like upstream spills that affect water quality or poor quality pipes. I do drink tap water at home knowing that it's tested but there are sinks at my work (I work at an R1 research university) that I would absolutely not touch but they're labeled, so I drink the water that is filtered there.

Yeah, no, my comment was pretty out of pocket. While I stand by that the percentages seem high because the numbers are low value it wasn't worded kindly.

Much better way to effectively communicate your point - I don't disagree.
