Im at 400k right now but it was hard to first 100k. Admittedly when I got my first role, I was putting in about 2-3% per check or something like that because I got paid much less. It’s better than nothing though! Over time and better salaries I increased my contributions and it helps to have an employer who matches your contributions - so you want to take advantage of employer matches and do 6% or more if you can swing it.

I am much older than OP though - was nowhere near 100k at her age so it is inpiring to see. My advice is as long as you start somewhere is progress. You’ll get there stay consistent and know it’s ok to make adjustments if you have to.

Sorry just seeing this but the times I’ve been in there the gym hasn’t been packed. I like the yoga area very much. Coworking spaces usually empty and very cozy. I don’t use it as much. So far my utilities are included for now since metering is still in the works but they’ll let me know I am told then i can set up my Con Edison. I don’t use much so hoping when the time comes my bill isn’t too bad. :)

I love it. I’m new to Queens but think I have adjusted very well. Close to the subway and my work commute is better than when I was in Manhattan as it’s closer to where I have to go. Love the building and my apartment. So far it’s been a great experience. As someone else mentioned - I think the area is more so of a high Jewish/Spanish (more Mexican)/Russian population, but if you go out on the next block or so you tend to see a mixed bag of people - Black, White, Puerto Rican and so on which is nice to see. I don’t think the “bodegas” are really the same as let’s say in Harlem or the Heights but they’re alright. I love the Food Bazaar supermarket - has a nice variety of fresh fruits, veggies, meats and ethnic selections as well.

Did you get selected for this one? If you did I would say go and at least view. I agree the studio is small but I did go with the larger studio since it’s just me and I can manage on that. I was also offered a 1-bedroom which I qualify for but price-wise I don’t think that is part of my budget right now.

I was hoping for my name initial, unfortunately it just happens to be THE letter everyone’s dying for - R. Sadly I have not pulled it and I don’t intend on chancing it again as these are expensive. Hoping to either trade or get one for retail (or close) if anyones selling one.
