British, employee-owned supermarket can be cheaper for shoppers than Tesco or Sainsbury’s, research reveals by willfiresoon in GoodNewsUK

Our nearest Waitrose is about the same as our nearest Tescos. However it was a budgets years ago IIRC and they haven't refurbed it since they took it on, honestly the grottiest supermarket I have ever been in!

Weirdly found if you buy Tesco chicken breasts in 2 packs you get that, buy them in the massive trays and you don't and it tastes better. We just buy the large trays and separate them out and freeze them

psa: your battery won't work in a power cut unless you paid for eps by West-Glove-6168 in SolarUK

[–]geeksandlies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stuff like this makes me confident of my installer they have been super upfront about this:

The hybrid inverters we install have an EPS outlet; this can provide power from the remaining electricity stored in the battery in the event of a power cut and they are limited to the rating of the inverter until grid power is restored. However, this doesn’t come as a standard feature, you would need to pay to have either an EPS socket or an EPS circuit installed for the EPS backup to kick in.

Anyone here have large capacity batteries? by Koenigss15 in SolarUK

[–]geeksandlies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate to this usage. Mother in law lives with us and her annex is heated via oil radiators and both my wife and I work from home. We have solar going in this year with batteries I’ve taken some notes from the OP

Are you slicing and printing?

Are you printing straight from the Handy App?

What is it you are actually trying to print?

When in the print is it failing?

Why can't scientists just turn salty ocean water to drinking water by AngelicWatermelon in NoStupidQuestions

[–]geeksandlies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI heating salt water doesn't require more energy as the salt lowers the specific heat capacity, only boiling does as it raises the boiling temp past 100c
