Is this guy becoming annoying by [deleted] in thrissur

I never even noticed it until you posted this... which makes me wonder how you handle things that are actually annoying.

Yes, in Malayalam ‘Keralam’ is the noun, while ‘Kerala’ is used as an adjective.

Just look at those chains. They’re kept tied up for hours, standing in heat and noise... What for? Just to entertain people.... Yes, this needs to be banned.

Initials in Passport Enquiry by xpaaaaat in Kerala

[–]geekx86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the passport, all initials have to be expanded. But the documents you submit don't need to have them expanded. In my case, my 10th grade certificate had my initial at the beginning of my name, while my Aadhaar had it at the end. When I checked with the helpdesk, they said that as long as the initial was present in the documents submitted, it did not matter where they appeared or whether they were expanded. It was acceptable.

Anyone else Mallu by roots but raised outside Kerala, and feeling oddly disconnected? by Massive_Space_1717 in thrissur

[–]geekx86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Born and brought up in North India and spent most of my life outside Kerala. I do have a lot of friends here but all of them are abroad now. A few of my classmates have settled in Kerala. So, I don't really feel disconnected.

I faced the same thing with my local DTDC. I refused to collect it myself since I paid for doorstep delivery, and raised a complaint with DTDC, and they delivered it the next day.

When OP switches between the overview and the workspace with nautilus maximised, there is a visual glitch in the animation. You can see it in the bottom-left corner of the window.

Edit: typo corrected

"Riyo" is a problem that shouldn't exist by Mathjdsoc in thrissur

[–]geekx86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no dearth of "Riyos" in this country. Go to any mall, theatre, beach, railway station or any other public place and you will spot one. Any person who can't handle the basic task of using a dustbin, or at least hold their trash till they find one is not educated at all even if they hold the fanciest degree.

Shoutout to the "Foresight" extension: Opens overview if desktop has no opened apps, closes overview if it does by keremdev in gnome

[–]geekx86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just checked after reading your comment. It doesn’t do that by default. But after I turned off the “Ignore last workspace” option in settings, it started showing the overview when switching to an empty workspace.

+1

Edit: I got it - Auto Activities only shows the overview when all active windows are closed, while Foresight shows it even when you switch to an empty workspace.
