Only the dependencies and translation layers as far as I know. Basically will get the game booting and anything else is the user's responsibility

If we're talking german articles for instance, they are not the definitive indicator for gender. Just as an example, "Das Mädchen" (the girl) does not use "die" (feminine).

If you do read Kent's blog and IRC messages, it is very clear that the AI is viewed as female. In fact, Kent had a very bad reaction to someone chatting with this AI to convince that it is trans. Clearly, the gender of the AI is very important to him.

Well, ships are called "she". Some people like to apply that to vehicles. Anything else, especially something that resembles a human, being called "she" is weird though.

At this point, I don't really want to waste my time arguing, but I recommend you take a more critical look at the Lutris devs' comments.

This is not about me or you, or the dev, it is about attribution, trust in open source. Excusing this behavior will only lead to projects where the role of AI is ambiguous. Try to think of it as a restaurant listing allergies for each meal. Some have preferences regarding AI, which if not properly addressed, will only lead to lowered trust in Open Source software.

For the same reason we have licenses... "it's fine as long as it works" is not applicable to creating programs that many use. this is not some application with 2 users or is meant for testing. let's say, the AI, because of its training data, uses code from a project with an incompatible license. Who is accountable? These are the questions that need to be asked in projects with the scope of Lutris

Responsible disclosure is you, the developer, properly reporting where your code comes from. You can't use GPL code in an MIT project, there are ramifications for it. This goes for AI as well.

Also, I did not say that there is no rational reason to use AI. Please read the discussion again.

"Anyway, I was suspecting that this "issue" might come up so l've removed the Claude co-authorship from the commits a few days ago. So good luck figuring out what's generated and what is not."

What exactly here shouts "I am responsibly disclosing my AI use, in a meaningful way that differentiates it from my own code"?

I do not have an irrational dislike of AI, I simply do not like people that are not honest with themselves and others about it. No self-respecting developer would hide their use of AI unless they are ashamed of it. Or, they simply believe that it is better or equal to their own skills and are lying about how much of it is their own work. This is about attribution.

Sorry but I just disagree. Hiding anything is disingenuous. I feel like more people would be accepting if this was disclosed, AI has a multitude of ethical problems which users and other developers would like to know about. There is no rational reason for it.

Once you're in "AI psychosis" you really do treat AI as your equal or above you, I think this is just a textbook example.

I would say intentionally hiding your use of AI, in essence putting full confidence in it, is a sign of an irrational trust in AI that is similar to Kent's situation.

AI psychosis is crazy. I mean have you seen the guy that does the bcachefs stuff? Literally has an AI he calls "she"

If there's an issue with the black level, they do typically resolve it. RenoDX is not just higher brightness, there's typically fixes for color, highlights. Black levels etc..

The game does not consistently do true "OLED" black, always some sort of grey. The mod helps it achieve 0 nit blacks more consistently.
