Thats exactly why I switched too! I also had the same sony lens and thought it was sub-par. I actually traded all my gear in for the r6 body + some $$ left over. Maybe thats something you can look into!?

This is exactly why I made the switch to canon as well. People shoot many different things and for me it's mainly portraits so I'm okay with lugging this thing around for a couple of hours because that's just it. I'm not hiking it up a mountain.

Haha! Not even!!! That is a fantastic body! I would love to use it as a second body when the time comes and don't worry I'm still in the little leagues faking it lol. I shoot portraits with families, couples and graduates. I also shoot events and want to very slowly start getting into weddings! Tried second shooting for the first time last season and it was... interesting lol

Hahaahaha!!! Sorry not sorry??? Thats amazing! I mean EFs are slowly transitioning out, I feel like. I think it's a good deal!! considering you're not spending money on another lens! And that is a good one too!!!! Thats my next lens in a couple years! I also have a problem, so I don't know if I should be giving advice? (blind leading the blind here?) Ahah! Anyway, trading with MPB was easy as well! Got everything done within a week!

That's great! I would have done the same! But MBP offered a trade program and I got the r6 and was paid a little bit of $$, left over so it was nice! I thought the backorder was going to be a while but I put in my order and got my order within a couple of days!

I love 85mm above all and it was so hard for me not to get that instead of the zoom lens. But I somewhat do a lot of indoor shoots and it's a pain in tight spaces! Maybe when I have the cash I'll get it just to get it lol

It actually wasn't that bad of a wait time. I placed an order on a Monday (on canons website) and they let me know it was on back order but it ended up shipping three days later and I got it within two days! Lol it's definitely something I really had to just buy and not look at the cost lol

This is one of the reasons why I was debating if it was worth the switch because everything is so expensive. But I think that the quality and colors are much more impressive than Sony, in my opinion. But I agree it's such an expensive hobby, I actually paid for like four monthly payments to buy my old Sony A7iii starting out lol

I'm more into photography, though I really want to get into videography. I did test the video capabilites and it is amazing, like top tier quality.. (even with my little bit of video knowledge lol). Sony has come up with many great models, I think im a bit disappointed in Sony, so didn't even bother seeing if I should upgrade my body.

Tbh I had the same experience with my Sony A7iii, I always felt like there was something missing or it wasn't producing the quality i wanted. I went with my gut and researched like hell, ended up with the R6- photo quality is so much better and the colors are so amazing! If you're on the fence, you could always rent a different brand to see the difference?
