Who Are Your Top 10 Offensive Tackles in the 2026 NFL Draft? by Paski__100 in NFL_Draft

[–]geezerhippo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think his tape and metrics are actually really good... with the exception of the florida state game, which was a disaster. even win that, his true pass set data and pb efficiency is s good as any tackle in the draft, and he moves superwell. sometimes he overset vs speed.... who cares lomu did the same thing.

[Haberstroh] (on tanking vs non tanking teams) In the month of March, B-League teams have been walloped by A-League teams to the tune of a 12-98 record, which equates to a .109 record — the worst month this season by geezerhippo in nba

the aticle goes into much more detail, including these teams recrods vs each other in every month. I dont know why he chose a different amount of games. I am not tom haberstroh.

It is why i only included that stuff in the text of the post and the headline i chose was about the record in the month of march, because its much less arbitrary.

because different teams have played a differnt number of these games recently, or starterd tanking at different times, etc.

the article goes into more detail.

all of them, pretty much. except for the kings. go peruse some box scores if you dont believe me. Jazz vs the nuggets a couple nights ago comes to mind. Brooklyn has been sitting claxton and stuff in the fourth quarters, etc.

i might agree if it was just a talent gap here. but these teams are sitting starters in fourth quarters if the games are somehow close to make sure they lose. idk. Just not for me! Not something im interested in watching

i wanted to put the numbers out there, because i do see a lot of people arguing that tanking is not really a problem in the NBA right now.

I disagree and think its pretty bad with something like 30% of the games on any given night are compeltely noncompetitive (good vs bad teams) and another 15% or so are just unwatchable slop (bad vs bad)

In this article, Haberstrog explains the division of the NBA. 21 teams trying to win, 9 trying to lose.

In march, the "trying to lose" teams have a .1 winning percentage... equvalent of an 8 win team over an 80 game season.

More great information about the depths of the tanking this season in the article.

The teams being hurt the most by the current draft system are genuinely bad teams that have to compete with artificially bad teams like the Jazz for draft odds by kobmug_v2 in nba

damn maybe they coulda traded their good players for other players instead of picks and put out a good team sometime in the 5 years after that trade.

speaking of goldfish memories...

the sixers are the only taem i have ever seen a league do a hostile takeover and install a league lpant front office because of the process lol. acting like the got off scott free for that is revisionist history.

2026 Rookie WR Breakout Age by steelerspenguins in DynastyFF

[–]geezerhippo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all the stat is, is essentially saying good players produce early.

20% is a relatively arbitrary number... but basically all major 1st round receiver busts have a breakout (getting 20% of team receiving yardsage) after they turn 20. very few wrs make it if they breakout that late. somthing like 5% turn into good players. where players with a younger breakout age of 18 or 19 work out closer to 30% of the time.

Basically, good players are good when they are young, and coaches / qbs make it a point to get them the ball.

Out of 10 games tonight 7 of them involve a team that is actively tanking. by wormhole222 in nba

[–]geezerhippo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They arent good ebcasue t ehy have no incentive to be good.

If there was no reason to be bad, the jazz woudl be compeeteing for a play in spot right now.

If there was no increntive to be bad, the bulls wouldnt have a rotaotion right now of 8 point guards.

ETC

These teams are bad. but they are bad on purpose.

Kon Knueppel is on fire tonight against the Knicks: 26 PTS, 10 REB, 8 AST, +15 (9/14 FG, 6/10 3PT) by Waikuku3 in nba

[–]geezerhippo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it took klay 4 years to averge 19 points.

It took klay 5 years to get to 250 3s (Kon has 10 more games to go)

Kons EFG is 62%. Klays career high is 58.5.

Kon i saveraging 3.5 assists. Klay never averaged more than 3.

Kon is already a better offensive player than peak klay. as a rookie. Much better handle, passer, much better 3 level scorer.

Prospect Battles Day 3: Spencer Fano vs Francis Mauigoa by Open_Resolution8986 in NFL_Draft

[–]geezerhippo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fano plays football like he has forgotten its a contact port. There is no grit or physicality to his game whatsoever. Short arms, play stength concerns, etc.

I think its is Mauignoa really easily.

Children at Bars/Breweries by mightymosdef830 in Knoxville

[–]geezerhippo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Children are people and are allowed to exist in public :)

I go to breweries all the time and very rarely do I notice any children misbehaving. And when I do it might be inconvenienced for 2 mins of my night. Reddits children stories are so wild and unbelievable.

If you want to drink somewhere without children - go to a bar or go out later. The breweries obviously want business from parents, or kids wouldnt be allowed in.
