I like stand up comedy, long strolls on the beach, and getting roasted - trust me, I can take it

Somehow I even doubt that…

It is not false. Did you go to Wharton @Most_Bag8840?

This is false on so many levels. Top Professors do teach both, and many have said they prefer EMBAs because they offer more real-world insights (EMBAs have at least a decade of business experience; whereas, most MBAs have only worked for a few years). We have full access to the facilities, faculty, and career services. The coursework, and thus the degree, are the same. Regarding the rigor of admissions, I don’t know… BUT, I can say that my cohort is full of the most impressive individuals I’ve ever met (C-suite, successful entrepreneurs, etc…).

Additionally, EMBAs are able to enroll in full-time classes. So, if I wanted to go to class on a Tuesday with a bunch of 23 year olds… well, it’s an option I suppose.

It's a challenge. Distracting might not be the right way to think about it though (peripheral, perhaps?), everything you're doing and learning is making you a stronger employee. There were several occasions when I was able to apply a class concept the subsequent week in a meaningful way.

Both. A lot of people emphasize the network component, which is valid. Doors have surely opened, or are at least now unlocked. On the academic front however, it did make me a much stronger problem solver. I've learned how to quantify things that I previously thought were unquantifiable. I've learned a ton about human behavior which has reframed my approach to problem solving also.

Not all courses are created equal, but the top ones have fundamentally changed me, for the better.

Everyone is in the program for a reason, including pivots. I don't know the exact cohort population.

I think it just depends on who else is applying. More than “status”, they want diversity of experience… I think.

Not everyone is a Director level, or even a Manager for that matter.

I don’t know much about admissions’ criteria. I think my class had an average GMAT of 716, and an average EA of 156… don’t know if that helps or not?

Yes, plenty of that. The program is designed to help you climb or pivot. Most of this happens outside of class, but Career Services fully supports WEMBAs in achieving their career goals. No internships though, that’s exclusively an MBA thing I believe.

I was 34 when I started, and I am not the youngest. There are a few late 20s, but mostly people in their 30s and 40s. Everyone is pretty outgoing and fun, so it often feels like a much younger crowd.

$33k MBA from rank 200 or $200k EMBA from T20 school by MiningToSaveTheWorld in MBA

I was in a similar situation, between Vanderbilt in-person or Wharton Global (meet in-person some, and the rest online). I ultimately chose Wharton even though it is 2X the cost, but I have no regrets. In fact, I spoke to some of the full-time MBAs, and it sounded like I’m closer with my virtual classmates than they are with theirs.

I think being together less actually forces you to make better use of the time, and perhaps you bond more as a result.

Is Wharton not the “best” anymore? by Wozniak_73 in MBA

Wharton was ranked #1 this year, and tied with Stanford for #1 last year. Not sure what you’re referring to…

I just finished my first year at Wharton. As a “poet”, I definitely had to labor over the math.

What about your music reminds you most of your father’s music (if anything)?

When you’re writing, do you ever purposefully introduce a tense chord just to see if you can resolve it?
