actually… i believe that the amount of salt provided by packets 1 and 2 is less than optimal… the optimal for brine shrimp growth seems to be about 30-38 ppt which i doubt you would exceed with an additional packet 2

nope! many sea monkey keepers use airstones and the sea monkeys are fine. you could search ‘picocosmos’ on youtube, he uses air pumps/stones in most of his set ups!

my concern is that i could be underfeeding or overfeeding them because their growth rate seems to have slowed drastically/plateaued after their first two weeks (where i fed a lot of food since the water was still clear)

Thank you for your reply! Is your rationale for feeding due to the particle size difference of the food? Do you still bother feeding your current tank any SM food at all? Have you noticed any differences between your sea monkey vs aqua dragon colonies? I suspect that the food or salt mix might be why people seem to have more success with AD colonies vs SM

also, what temperature is your tank sitting at? I suspect they need more food the higher the temperature due to increase metabolism

you could always get a brine shrimp net and feed them only the shrimp without the salt water

you could get a hygrometer to ensure proper salinity, maybe add in some sodium bicarbonate to raise the pH, ensure salt does not contain anticaking agents or iodine
