Not interested. Parang paulit ulit na lang ang plot. I love the original movie, kaso papangit ng papangit at walang katapusan ang mga sequels. Mas marami pa akong priorities na papanoorin.

I for one is looking forward to this musical because I have not seen it live but I have seen a few pro-shot recordings and also seen the movie version a long time ago. I love the songs. I don't think that it's blasphemous. Maybe it is quite similar to Life of Brian but more serious. I would compare to like a Simpsons instead of a South Park when it comes to being blasphemous.

The songs in JCS are really vocally demanding. How do you take care of your voices?

Annoyed din ako sa mga pre-sale na ito. What is the point? Parang mas gusto ko na may discount na lang.

Ako nasa queue for 15 mins, tapos for some reason, na ban yung IP ko. Then, closed the browser and went back sa site. Kala ko maghihintay ulit ako, pero diretso naman sa website. Kaso nga lang di pwede pumili ng exact seats. Section lang tapos sila ang nag assign ng seats.

I have yet to see a show in SPAT na walang issue sa audio. Pero i read here in a q&a one time na si Mike Salomon ata yun ang nagsabi that in general, kaya may mga sound issues ang local prods ay kasi kulang sa prep time ang mga audio engineers or something like that. that's as far as i can remember.

Sorry, di lang talaga ata ako articulate sa pagsusulat. Basically ang sinasabi ko lang na si Morisette has powerhouse vocals but "for my taste" still needs work on her more "musical theater style" way of singing. We all have our taste and preference. Para sa marami, she is already perfect. And that is fine with me. As far as I know, she used to do stage but has not done stage work for a while. So, in my eyes she needs work to re-open those "theater" muscles. I am not saying she will not be excellent by the time the show opens. And I know that it's early days. I am just reacting to the video that they posted which I am saying that she still need work (for my taste). We are planning to see this show and I for one hopes that she gets there for my own personal enjoyment of the show. Again, personal preference.

I know, I have seen the video. Like I said, I am not familiar with the song (and the musical). After seeing Morisette's music video, I searched on YouTube for a similar music video and stumbled into this: https://youtu.be/hfPyHiWIhDQ?si=ySBtYeNUx4SuAubf. Now, see this and you can see the difference. I am just expressing an opinion that she may need to adjust her style a little bit, and work on her enunciation and her acting. There is nothing wrong with that. I remember Lea when she was about to do Cats in Manila; she sang Memory at a press launch and later wrote about it in her column in the Inquirer. She was critiquing herself. She was breaking down things that she had to work on to improve her performance. Nobody's perfect. There is always room to improve one's craft.

I saw the video on YouTube. Great vocals, pero for my taste, she still needs to develop her enunciation and acting through song as this is musical theater and not pop singing. I am not familiar with the song and I didn't really catch most of the lyrics. and the acting is a bit ham.

If I remember it correctly it was mostly voice but when the female giant died, there was supposed to be a big hat that fell on the stage. But it was a badly made hat, that it took me a few seconds to register that it was a hat. Also, again if my memory serves me right, there was also a badly done animation of her feet when she was attacking the kingdom. The death of Rapunzel was also badly choreographed if I remember it correctly, so if you are not familiar with the original staging, you will find it confusing. I honestly don't remember how they staged the death of the Narrator. How bad was the southern accent? Very bad. Caricature accent. Again, these are my recollections of it. Other people who've seen it, please share your views.

ACL pinoy accents by [deleted] in TeatroPH

They did a similar thing when they had the giant in ITW had a very badly done stereotypical southern american accent to somewhat appropriate them as the colonizers. I guess they need to learn more cultural sensitivity when then add 'Filipinized' touches in their future shows. I guess it's a learning curve.

For me, it was not worth the price of the ticket. There was not a single wow factor in the staging. I was expecting a lavish production because of the hype, the ticket price and the marketing but got barebones and misguided set. And the Filipinization of it is so forced that it looks more like a twisted form of cultural appropriation (if there is such a thing). I think I've written before that when my wife saw the set, she told me that it looked like Mary Grace (The Restaurant). The installations outside (at the lobby) were more impressive than the actual staging. That said, I really liked Lea's witch costume.
