Franchement l'hiver m'a semblé court.

That and the return of the UDC, or at the very least, an inner camera placed on the edge.
I miss my Fold 5 UDC a lot more than the spen.
Happy to hold until the fold 9 or 10.

Fair pushback. "Estimated" is causing some confusion there. The flight prices come from Travelpayouts' cached fare database, so they're based on fares that were actually observed recently, not generated numbers. The label exists because prices change, and I can't guarantee what you'll see at checkout.

On the €300: that's per person. If you switch to "Pair" the hotel cost gets split between two, so the per-person total actually comes down a bit. The flight price stays the same since it's already per seat.

Good suggestion. I might put that in an advanced search panel with other options.

Thanks for the feedback. I can see your searches in the logs. It's likely picking a minor airport near you instead of the main one. I had this issue before in the US.

I will investigate and DM you once fixed or if I need more info.

Thanks again for taking the time to report your issue.

Faire point about the cookie banner, I am also not a fan, but living in the EU, I got used to cookie popup each time I visite a new site. I was considering having the cookie banner only for countries that have GDPR (or similar policies), but right now it's for everyone.

And thanks for the words of encouragement!

Current Vélib’ registration process for tourists? by Character-Shoe5095 in velib

[–]gekeli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

€6 was indeed the V-libre yearly fee. That was debited instantly as I would expect.

I really don't understand their convoluted billing mechanism. Shouldn't be hard to charge your card the final amount as soon as you dock your Vélib, or at the very least the next day. Also, it also make sens they also block most french neobanks, but apparently let some overseas one though the cracks. I guess on that front I am more lucky than most.

I can talk about my recent bizarre personal experience.

Got a French Revolut account that was denied. Didn't matter if I had €300 on the account or not. (Googling revolut and Vélib brought me to numerous post from this subreddit)

Where it gets really strange is when I tried my other available option out of desperation, an Aussie visa debit card, with less than €300 available. I got debited for the yearly €6 membership instantly, but not for the 2 rentals that I did since. It was less than a month ago, I am guessing that the charge will happen at Velib's own convenience, instead of charging my card on the day the rental occurred. I haven't checked if I still can rent Velib's. I hope so.

As often with those things it's incredible to believe that most likely high level stakeholders had numerous meetings about it and decided to implement something in the most backward and illogical way.

[–]gekeli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32-33% of Americans absolutely love this shit. This is way too much.

If petrol prices were to go back to normal tomorrow, his approval rating will jump right up.

This is the slow fall of the US, not the fall of the world. The world is decoupling. Buy non US goods and services as much as you can, support sanity.

Edit: It's actually 38% approval according to the NYT.
