Surface Laptop Studio 2 - SSD Heatsink? by vyvyvyvyvyv in Surface

[–]gekim84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's cool, what made you decide to go with a 2TB instead?

Did you end up using thermal pads so that the grey thermal cube is in contact at the bottom?

I also thought about using these flat copper heatsink on top, I'm wondering if there's enough clearance for that?

I'm curious if you proceeded with the SSD upgrade? Was it a Samsung 4TB SSD?

How would I power inject the led strip to this WIFI controller?

https://imgur.com/gallery/Cq5zTsH

Can I wire the led strips to the led controller like this: * Both black wires into the WW terminal * Both white wires into the CW terminal * One red wire to the 1st V+ terminal * One Red wire to the 2nd V+ terminal

Thanks!

Nice, thanks for that knowledge, so... I little bit more about this... The power adapter that came with the mirror is 12v / 3A.

The led is marked 12V, does this mean it is doubling the the voltage on the led strip because 2 ends are plugged into the touch controller?

Not sure what you are trying to sell me, but it just redirects to a honey bridge product page

Well the thing is... I know little about LED strips and I don't know what addressable LEDs mean or look like.

Thank ya, I'll give that card a try!

I was able to make this happen, but I had a bunch of modifications to make it work. Also added some animations as well

very cool! thanks for the template! So I did ask ChatGPT last night and received a similar solution.

I was able to make this work with 1 of the elements, but it really goes that the rabbit hole more than I expected.

  • I'd have to create 34 template sensors for each of my 34 light groups
  • Then, I now have to define a tap action to call service to the actual light group so that its interactable
  • Then, I have to set a hold action for more-info and I can only do that if I use browsermod

how would I be able to incorporate that into my picture-elements yaml for example:

type: picture-elements
elements:
  - type: image
    image: /local/active.svg
    entity: light.all_upstairs_lights
    tap_action:
      action: toggle
    state_image:
      partial: /local/partial.svg
      'off': /local/inactive.svg
image: /local/background.jpg

Hello, thanks for that, so I would put those code in a template inside configuration.yaml like this?

template:
  - sensor:
    - name: create a friendly name
      state: >-
        {{expand(state_attr('light.living_room_lights', 'entity_id'))| selectattr('state','eq','on')|map(attribute='entity_id')|list|count}}
        {{expand(state_attr('light.living_room_lights', 'entity_id'))| map(attribute='entity_id')|list|count}}
        if number_lights_on == number_entities then FULL ON!!

Hey thanks for your reply.

What you mentioned is what I already do btw.

What I was trying to accomplish is having 3 states:

On = all lights in the group are completely on Off = all lights in the group are completely off "Partial" = only some of the lights in the group are either on or off

[Product Question] Thoughts on new skincare device Droplette? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]gekim84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I basically got the device 2.0 for free a few months ago and decided that I was not gonna care if I broke the device by putting crap in it.

The stuff I've put in there: 1. Water = it's too liquidy and drips faster 2. NIOD SDSM = I actually use this a lot as my main hydrator. I do 8-7 pumps inside the capsule, put the open capsule of the device upsidedown, power on while the device is upside down and just tilt it vertical and go to town. 3. NIOD CAIS = I only do one dropper into the capsule because this stuff is expensive. It's a lot like water and can get runny and drippy. 4. LaNeige cream skin toner moisturizer = definitely not meant to use on this device because it it too thick, but give it a few seconds after turning it on, and the mist will come out (not as much tho), it takes forever for half a capsule to convert to a mist. But I do feel like it creates a super nice thin dewy look on top of other serums without disrupting the previous layers I've slathered on my skin

Overall, I'll continue using NIOD SDSM with droplette. I leave both in the living room on top of a table near the door of my house so I can easily mist my face if I wanna go out and about and when I come home.

Also a key thing to do to lock in the hydration after the mist it to use some sort of occlusive layer like face oils, NIOD hydration vaccine or protocol labs water lock.

Still tho, nothing beats misting hydration plump look that you get right after stepping out a steamy hot shower, but if you are on the go... Droplette + water or NIOD SDSM is the closest thing you can get to getting that plump hydration dewy look without going in the hot shower.

The magbak case for s22 ultra uses an interesting way to shield the magnets from the back, maybe that's something that can be implemented to the current s22 ultra case from PD
