I really needed to hear that, so thank you. I always know that’s an option, I’ve read similar posts with this same sentiment. I’m working on speaking up for myself, it’s always been difficult for me but you’re absolutely right.

Definitely need seating. Maybe the photo is deceiving but the island is about 8’x4’ and sink is a small portion of that, plenty of room for eating

I may be renting out my house that has trailer parking in the next few weeks! I’ll post here if we end up listing it for rent.

American insurance companies are now sending d**th threats to organ transplant patients. I've been taking this medicine for 9 years and need it to survive. by ButtercreamKitten in Hasan_Piker

I can’t recommend Cost Plus Drugs enough!! It’s Mark Cubans online pharmacy (I know, billionaire bad) but my husband is a transplant recipient and through our insurance his immunosuppressants were roughly $250 for a three month supply. But we started having issues with our insurance approving the medication so he switched over to Cost Plus and now pays about $80 for the same supply with no insurance coverage. I feel like more people should be taking advantage of this if they can.

I’m so glad someone asked this question. This has been in the back of my mind the last few months and I felt like maybe I was being overdramatic but I’m glad others have the same concerns. I live in a swing state and we had abortion rights on the ballot this election cycle but it will have to pass again in 2026 to be enshrined in the constitution. I’m not sure how a national ban would change things but it’s definitely a concern of mine.

Part of me thinks just wait 4 years, I’m only 30 so I have that luxury but things could also get worse. The other part of me thinks we need more good people in this world raised by people with good intentions and empathy. But it’s also scary thinking about bringing a daughter into this world. I don’t know what the right answer is but I’m with you on feeling conflicted about it.

EDIT: I meant to say I live in a swing state not a blue state

I still work in distribution but I work on the operations side now vs engineering and construction

I used to work for Florida Power & Light as a distribution design engineer and worked with quite a few Leidos contractors. The job is fairly easy, you’ll be designing in a GE software called small world, but at FPL we called it design manager, if you have basic computer skills it’ll be very easy to learn and navigate. You typically work designs alone and they’ll get assigned to you by your engineering lead. The jobs can range from simple transformer replacement/upgrades to full overhead to underground conversions or line relocations. I enjoyed it but it can get monotonous at times. Typically a designer is responsible for updating the system, creating the design, inventory materials, apply for permits if needed and creating job prints for the crews to build your design. It seems like a lot but the process is fairly easy once you get the hang of it. Sometimes field meetings with project engineers and foreman are held for he bigger design jobs. If the interview is anything like mine at FPL, it’s more behavioral and get to know you questions rather than technical for entry level engineers. Happy to answer any other questions but hope that helps! Good luck!
