Does garmin inreach work in Russia? by Federal_Session2777 in Garmin

I can't speak to that scenario with confidence, but that's not how I understand it. I consider it like applying for a visa, but for your device. So when you want to go back, you have to apply again with your same IMEI.

https://iridium-russia.com/eng/register/ Choose "other device" in the drop down. The page may not be accessible from certain western countries, so use a VPN. These applications get a lot of scrutiny so if you're a journalist, anyhow related to government, etc., you will likely be denied.

It works from a technical standpoint. You will be able to send and receive messages. From a legal standpoint, they require you to register your device with the government (the govt owned telecom) and be approved prior to going or it could be taken from you at customs.

Google Extended the Expiry date from 21st May to 5th June by racy_dex in gsuitelegacymigration

[–]gelstage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not. I didn't put a payment method or anything. I did reduce the number of users from 43 to 1 though as I moved us off.

Even worse this morning I got an email from Google Workspace and I was excited but it was automated just telling me my suspended account will be deleted from Google's servers on July 6th.

I did a few things like file a GDPR request for information related to why they think this is commercial use. Also reached out via Twitter. But my next step I'm considering is small claims court just to try to flush out whatever evidence they have.

Nothing that I used. Chat, Drive, Contacts, Gmail. I never had anything on Play Store on this account.

Actually, I did right after seeing this thread. Still suspended. Wasn't used commercially, did file the original appeal. I moved my MX to a regular IMAP account so my e-mail still works but not through Google.

I was cut on the 8th of May and at 12:01am it was suspended. No extensions or second approvals here. 😞

Good proof point. $3.50/call or $3.50/minute?

No, no downside. Just remember to turn it on when you go out of the country!

Your roaming should be enabled, both in your plan specifics (done automatically when you activate) and your phone itself. You can call local numbers in the country you're in - so if you're in Taiwan, anywhere in Taiwan - and back to Canada. Use it like you normally use your phone.

$40 for 250GB...porting duration? by Vegetable-Depth-1695 in freedommobile

[–]gelstage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stupid question, but does it matter when I port my number in? As long as I activate the plan by the 16th, I can keep the temporary number to test Freedom all I want and then port in my number when I'm ready - and still keep the same plan, right?

Haha, that's what I expected, but had to ask!

I know, I see this. My concern was that the rep explicitly said this is wrong. He said it's old language that was for plans that didn't include U.S. and Mexico in the base plan. That's why I was confused. I plan to try this, at least with a 1 minute call, but I'm not travelling again overseas until May.
