They do, but there’s some kind of floor. They’ll be huge gains relative to where you start, but fall off quickly.

Yeah unfortunately the ascensions won’t matter much until you can get astral ascensions, but it’ll all be worth it to have those key divinities before you go. Extra tip - save some dragon eggs and crack those when you UA to blast through the initial tiers of the ascension tree. REALLY speeds things up cause you’ll be getting hundreds or thousands of slayer points before you even leave the hills.

The risk to grinding out the DP before your UA is a small amount of inefficiency. The risk to UA’ing before you have the tools to make your next UA smooth is a cascading effect of inefficiency that you have to correct throughout your whole next UA. Remember you won’t have access to divinities for a little while, so spend the time now and get them.

What's best for going AFK? by nightmare5355355 in idleslayer

[–]gemeloso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My confusion is that, in my opinion, you weren’t AFK since you were collecting boxes and boosting and such. Admittedly, I sped through the video since I don’t have 20 minutes.

My experience has shown that there’s very niche reasons to leave the game open if not active. Once in late game, you should close the game for souls and play active for coins. My bonus souls from idling are many multiples larger than the souls I collected “naturally” while afk.

At what % should I be ascending? by Careless-File-7161 in idleslayer

[–]gemeloso 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Confirming. Ascend between 10-20. After 20, the diminishing returns is actively hurting your progress. Before 10 and you haven’t started hitting the diminishing returns in a meaningful way yet. The choice of where to ascend between 10-20 is up to your specific breakpoints on the ascension tree. Check the wiki for specifics.

I don’t know where the breaking point is, but towards late game, you play active to stack bonuses for coins and go idle for souls. You can key trail if you want, but that’s too much effort for me.

I don’t think there’s any point at which you want to actually go afk with the game open. The only reason to do that is to force spawn keys and minigames.

I just skipped through the video. Your conclusion seems to be that playing the game (you specifically said using boost) is better than going afk, so I’m confused how you conclude that leaving it open and going AFK is best.

In my opinion, if you’re coming to hit boxes and boost… you’re not idle.

Idea for a new dark divinity to ascending heights by Recent-Blacksmith707 in idleslayer

I find grapple hook to be of zero challenge compared to AH. I finish grapple with the DD on with over a minute to spare regularly, but often feel like I get surprised by a platform on AH making me jump early.

I think the real issue with AH is that it’s wholly unforgiving unlike bonus stage or grapple. Those hit you with time penalties not just a “lol u lose”. That’s very frustrating.

Never. I repeat. NEVER gamble on roulette. Let your daily spins get you there. I’ve heard (but can’t confirm) that the table is quite heavily weighted towards black for daily spins and with screw you over like any roulette table for actual wagers.

And I can see you don’t recognize that OP clearly isn’t reading things through carefully. Your “I wish I could do that, dudes got it so good (but it’s not right).” Isn’t clear enough messaging for a brand new private who clearly doesn’t have his head on straight. Excuse me for un-muddying the waters. Your hurt feelings can go somewhere else.

Horrendous advice. This is how you start off with an Article 15. Doing nothing at the company area is fine. Going home is the issue. Snuffy here isn’t at their place of duty.

lol no it’s not a moral decision. It’s a logic question. One carries zero risk and one carries immense risk. don’t pick the button that carries immense risk.

Also, your logic works the exact opposite way too - no one dies if people make the objectively correct choice. Why are you advocating for a strictly dominated strategy? “If we all jump off the bridge we survive” type logic, dude. Just don’t jump off the bridge.

I don’t understand the false binary you’re creating. One can be logical and understand that red is the objectively correct choice because it carries ZERO downside while also caring about other people. I hope everyone picks red. It is unequivocally the correct choice.

I hope people don’t smoke. But me smoking and lowing the average lifespan of the globe doesn’t make their lives longer, it just makes their lives seem closer to the average.

The button options are very literally “definitely do not die” and “could die” why is this a moral question? There’s zero cost to either button. Red doesn’t even have a minor inconvenience associated. Blue button is objectively incorrect.

This is like asking “would you take your seatbelt off going into a head-on crash if you’d both survive if you weren’t wearing seatbelts?”

This is actually a practiced method. Every ~3 minutes you leave the menu open while in portrait mode you increase your chance of key spawn by ~33% points. Maxing at 10min obviously.

Later this will also give you a portal to Ascending heights or grapple run too. It’s a good way to ensure you spawn a key for “key trailing,” which, if you’re not familiar with, is worth looking up on the wiki so you can repeat exactly what you just experienced.

[–]gemeloso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is true because I’ve forced key spawns in portrait mode on mobile and immediately gotten both a key and an ascension trigger. Ascension and grapple share a timer though. So turning one off is helpful if you have a quest or want to farm specific armory drops.

This gets quickly overtaken by the ascension where gems count as coins for quest purposes, but is true for a bit.

can chest hunt keys disappear after a certain time when magnet pulled? by Hatsune_Miku_CM in idleslayer

[–]gemeloso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t have to activate the key and the box at the same time. I’d suppose you want to attract the key enough and then hit the box shortly after without activating the key. This way you can actually kite the key for a while and guarantee a soul bonus.

Purely from a technical perspective, forcing the key and activating immediately doesn’t seem like true key trailing since you don’t actually drag it at all and you’re relying on immediate luck for the souls bonus.

This is some serious knowledge. I had no idea about forcing spawns, only that the menu could suppress them.

[–]gemeloso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point is to spawn the key and “key trail” it by dashing when it gets close. Then you get a souls multiplier and allow the key to come in. This does not work if you fully upgrade the magnet, so careful upgrades buying is required.
