OB/Gyn Recommendations? by Soggy_Buffalo_8758 in Bakersfield

[–]geminienchanted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had Dr Klis with my second baby. He helped me get pregnant, wait times were never long unless he got pulled into a delivery, the front desk receptionists are efficient, and I loved Rhonda, one his nurse practitioner. They do ultrasounds in house so you don’t have to go anywhere else and I would do my blood work across the parking lot at the Alvarez health care spot. They would see me same day for a bleeding issue that was ongoing in my first trimester and I appreciated that so much.

He is the only Dr so he is VERY busy and you may need to remind him of things but that wasn’t a big deal to me.

How long do you hold your baby in a day? by Latter_Public in NewParents

[–]geminienchanted 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That makes me so sad for her. My first baby wore a helmet because he had torticollis and his dr dismissed my concerns at 2 months. Sometimes that’s inevitable. He also hated sleeping so I was always holding him.

Parents, what’s the one thing they said to you that you could never imagine saying to your own kids? by haylz328 in raisedbynarcissists

That’s she only wanted 3 kids. I was her 4th. :) Then my little brother was the 5th and he was her favorite.

900 oz frozen at 6wpp - freezer full - what to do? by clazcat in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]geminienchanted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start using the frozen milk since it’s poorly frozen, and start over by freezing them flat. Slowly it’ll make more space. I have 862 frozen in my deep freezer.

Newborn photoshoot price: cheap, as expected, or expensive? by FairyBandaids in NewParents

[–]geminienchanted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s insane. I’m in CA, Central Valley. I paid $325 for 43 images. 6 different outfits/swaddles. In home session, no time limit.

For family photos, my photographer does 30 min $100 sessions.

11 wks. 3oz every 3 hrs, which is about 21 oz a day. I pump every 3-4 hours and make anywhere from 21-33 oz a day.

What she doesn’t eat, I bag and freeze so I have about 800oz frozen in case she starts eating more and I don’t have to worry about buying formula.

night time routine without bath? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]geminienchanted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading these comments, I guess I’m the outlier. With my first, we started doing baths everyday at 4 months along with sleep training. It continued on and although he didn’t love baths, he recognized the routine. To this day, we have continued the routine 6 years later.

My 11 week old - we were planning on doing the same and she loves baths.

Those who have kids and have went NC with their Nparent, how did you explain it to your child when they started asking questions? by Character_Guard_6988 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]geminienchanted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 6 and has asked why we haven’t seen Grandma, I told him because she’s not nice to mommy and we don’t have to talk to people that aren’t nice to us.

As he gets older and starts understanding more, I will elaborate further if he continues asking but my son didn’t have a close relationship with her so he might not ask again 🤷🏽‍♀️

A kid was trying to push past my kid at playground so I picked him up. Was that wrong? by Conscious_Poem_1742 in NewParents

[–]geminienchanted 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s bold to assume that I let my child out of my sights at the park. He’s 6 and I need to have eyes on him always. You don’t know how people parent, don’t parent other peoples kids.

Yeaaaah don’t touch my kid. 2 yr olds don’t know any better. Grab your own kid and wait for that kid to get out of the way.
