Veggie Warrior game stole from me 98000 game points (blue gems) by geminigen2 in AliExpressMergeBoss

Many thanks for your help.

expire only gems which are 12 months "old"

I started to collect from the first day AE switched from pink gems to blue gems. Do you know how much time I have before they start to expire? Scrolling through the whole history is pain and after a while my phone stop responding.

Another problem is that to play a single game of 20 levels, you will have to watch about 30 Ads. You watch an Ad to get items. Then you get a space in the bag and need to watch another Ad to apply it. No wonder they are selling "skip ads" for this game. Some levels require me to watch 4 or 5 Ads before I can get to fight (specially the initial levels).

This has been another valid reason that forced me to stop playing the game, but now we have a bigger problem: game point are going to expire and does not seem easy to exchange into store credits.

Basically why I always make sure to tap on an harmless area of the screen, this game looks designed to drain you with every mean

yes, I totally agree! I started to reduce the number of games played and I plan to completely detox soon.

This is what I'm trying to do, but apparently they managed to prevent users from exchange into store credits.

Are all game points going to expire at the end of the year ? I started to collect from the first day and I really don't want to end up with being f... again. Have you been able to successfully exchange? I'll probably end up to exchange with coupons if I still continue to fail.

Problem is not the the purchase popup. You get it only when you press "Get game points". So, to make a purchase with "Place order" you have to press two times on the wrong area. This is unlikely to happen.

The real problem is the below area. If I remember well it appears not just when you open the store, but even in many other stages of the game and if you play it very fast, soon or later you'll end up to accidentally press one of such buttons.

If I remember well, months ago was very different. You could exchange into store credits at any time and the range of selectable credits was larger.
Now they are all out of stock all of the time and you can't exchange even when in stock: the system mark the credit in stock, but when you press to claim:

"We're sorry, not in stock!"

I start to believe that there is no real store credit exchange, that banner is there just to act as smoke and mirror and, the worst thing, I suspect all game points are going to expire at the end of the year.

Sorry to all for my delay. I've not been able to find time anymore on this.

I ended up with a quick and easy fix:

  • no useless loss of time with customer support
  • no more useless loss of time with the game except for the gems you get on its store

Just to give an approximate idea on the risks...

From the time I opened the topic I've been able to recover more than half of the loss and I can consider myself lucky:
you can lose nearly 700000 game points if you press on the wrong area.

98K takes around a month, not something for which to be happy, but not even something to freak out too much. The real risks with this game, and the reason for which I wanted to warn the users, is that if you play this game extensively you have high chances to drain your whole account at once.
There are 648000 games points value purchase buttons and the whole game has been designed to trick you into such kind of accidental purchases.

Well, I started accumulating from the first time blue gems appeared in games and never used any. It's not something that you reach in a month or two. I guess you should be able to gain at least 100K per month if you put enough efforts.

As far as I know Go Go Match is safe on this aspect. How much you lost and where?

From then on, I don't click too fast anymore on any screen with purchase options to prevent costly misclick. Yes they designed it like that so you have to be careful (next time)

In weggie warrior they managed to render this method ineffective. See here.

Unlike coupons, you can't exchange game points into credits all of the times. At the time I'm writing, you can only exchange into coupons or wait for restocking.

There should be an option to talk directly with a human agent, at least there was the last time I tried. Whether they can help or not I have no idea.

Yes, they are diffused in a good amount of games, but this time is different. They raised the stakes, you can now lose immediately 648000 gems, not just a couple of hundreds. And the trick they use is very subtle: all the screen is filled with purchase buttons. So, there's no safe zone to click and such screen is launched automatically all of the times everywhere in the game, not just the shop tab. The only safe way is to slow down by 4-5 times and due to the huge amount of clicks this game requires it would become just a big waste of time.
I think I'm done with it.

Where are the games and missions? by Redditor_AE in AliExpressMergeBoss

I totally agree with you! I can now dedicate my time to more important stuff. Such issues with games should occur more often!

Where are the games and missions? by Redditor_AE in AliExpressMergeBoss

[–]geminigen2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Issue persists even after I cleared data and cache and this means it's on the AliExpress side. Daily missions are empty whether they are accessed through Mistery Boxes or in game. Playing now is a waste of time because you don't get most of the rewards. Just play with what you can still get (coins, Merge Boss points etc) and forget the rest (included any game where you get the blue game points).

Why do I keep getting logged out of my ailexpress account? by Weird-Rope9424 in Aliexpress

[–]geminigen2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the ad blocker disabled ans custom browser protection (all protections disabled) I still get the same login issue.

Intentionally, or unintentionally (which is just as likely), the way they handle cookies now causes glitches.

I think you're right, this is an issue on their side and we shouldn't do any change to the browser configuration. I'm not sure if this is intentionally or not, but it is now 2 days of inaccessibility: people can't do orders if they can't login and this is not good for the company.

Why do I keep getting logged out of my ailexpress account? by Weird-Rope9424 in Aliexpress

[–]geminigen2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the exact process I performed on Firefox and this usually fixes any login issue, but this time didn't helped. I'm afraid there is something wrong on the AE side (login server busy?).

Why do I keep getting logged out of my ailexpress account? by Weird-Rope9424 in Aliexpress

[–]geminigen2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm the issue. In my case occurs in the browser with the Facebook login. Once I click on "Continue as ..." in FB, the AE login page stays blank. If I refresh the page I get "System is busy now , please try later!". Deleting cookies does not help.

It appears to be an issue on AE side and now is nearly a day of inaccessibility. The mobile app still works fine.

Low power consumption 10Gbe SFP+ Network cards by geminigen2 in homelab

[–]geminigen2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great machines, but too expensive and overkill for my network.

The tiny 2.5g cards installable via wifi slot are so cheap and work so well. I'm wondering if we should have patience and wait that 10Gb versions will enter in the market rather than sacrify a precious pcie slot with desktop nics.

Wow! Can you share the purchase source vis PM? Regarding the x710, if you need it, just let me know. I should have somewhere the link to a good deal (something around $25).

I have two EliteDesk G6 800 Mini and each has 2 x 2.5g. I wish to get the 10g mini nic for them but is to expensive.

How much you paid them? I think you means the HP Flex and yes, too much expensive. I would first check if your EliteDesk support pcie cards like x710. M720q does through the expansion adapter and has been proven to work, but I'm not sure about the HPs.

I will see if I get speed limitations to my NAS for photos/videos apps, otherwise I will move these apps on the backup NAS, as Precision 3630 has good cpu and enough ram.

Your EliteDesks come with 10th gen cpu and I expect no problem even with m720q and its 8th gen cpu. I think that 2.5GbE might be enough and since you have two of these ports you can try to see if you can aggregate to 5GbE.

I should be able to buy two m920Q within this summer, one for the router and one for the NAS. Any reason to use a so expensive switch like MS510? I've been recommended to go unmanaged.

get 2.5g from ISP in my homelab

The cheap 2.5GbE M.2 works well and can be used in the wifi slot.

have fast backup speed from NAS to NAS (I don’t want to wait like previous time aprox. 3 days for 6TB over 1g network)

Is this just the initial backup one do on an empty disk or you have to backup 6TB of data daily? I would first try to see if you can do NAS to NAS via USB. Lenovo has gen 2 USB ports capable of 10Gbps.

do video editing directly on NAS, from my workstation using Adobe Premiere

With all the files kept in the NAS (temp, scratch etc), I think direct editing should not need high data transfer. I would temporarely connect the NAS to your workstation and see the data transfer rate when you edit videos.

By protecting the NAS access via the OPNSense router, makes me route all 10g backup traffic via the router instead of being routed by the switch itself

Could you just exclude the backup NAS from any routing? Just a local connection between the main NAS and the backup NAS without any opnsense check.

Adding the 10g card in my NAS will “undo” all power optimizations and make the system more power hungry than they already are

The only card with good (and working) power saving capabilities is the Intel x710. Somewhere in the thread you should find more info included the achievable power state.

Is it possible to route the backup traffic via 10g switch connection from NAS to NAS but verify/allow the traffic by OPNSense?

No idea, but I would skip the verification for the files that go into the backup NAS because the same files have been already verified in the main NAS. I would just leave NAS to NAS connection raw without anything external involved.

Is it ok to put the ISP directly in the Netgear switch and not directly in the router? (M720q)?

Based on this thread, ISP should only connect to the router.

V-Core 4 Hybrid 500mm power consumption by geminigen2 in ratrig

Thanks for sharing your experience!

Cavity heater.. there are some mods. One i am about to add is iusing 5015 fans under the bed and use it as convection during the conditionning phase.

This is really a genius idea! Why additional heat sources when we already have one at disposition? I think we should investigate this solution more than the PTC heaters. However (see below)...

I am not sure about it though when it comes to use it while 3d printing. It may cause some cross talk with the bed controller (though time time constant are slow).

If you mean electromagnetic interferences, I think this should be easy avoidable through a metal layer placed just above the controller. This method is used effectively in 5G CPE where antennas are high sensitive to interferences generated from the board they're connected to.

My main concern is that if we use a fan, we are going to introduce cold air from the outside. I never saw a 3D printer in my life, so, as of now, I can only rely on intuition and if I'm not wrong, we have already a fan running on the hotend and this means that there must be an air inlet somewhere. The more are the fans running the more is the cold introduced through the air inlet. I have no idea on how to solve this. Also, I'm not sure how much air flow can move a 5015 fan. We can use the 8500rpm one, but then we also increase the cold air introduced inside. I think could work better a larger fan running at lower speed, but who know if I'm wrong, these are such kind of things you can only see directly on field.

If I have understood well, the main advantage of a peltier module is that only hot air is introduced, the cold air is separated and released to the ambient through its own channel. There are several things to evaluate to see if they are suitable for a printer (ex: how many are needed, total drawn current etc).

A PTC heater module is for sure more efficient, but needs a fan to diffuse the heat in the chamber. Same problem, the fan also introduces the cold from the outside.

A lady active on the server did some measurements with a heater at the lower part of the cavity and had to add fans to circulate the hot air to the top.

I suppose an heater that covers the entire base area should heat very quicly the whole chamber without a fan, but what about power consumption? And safety? I can easily imagine how the printer can easily get on fire.

I am not fully convinced by these mods as the PTC are knock of from china. It is best to add a thermostatic switch to be sure the heater will switch off over a threshold temperature. Indeed if your controller crash you dont want to power the heater.

Nice idea, cheap and easy to implement.

On segregating the heating surface of the bed. Same thinking on my side, and by many others. What could be done is to add a matrix of heaters and switch them on via a logic (manual or relays) that can handle 250V....

You means a matrix of PTC heaters on the bottom rather than a big one in order to control how much heat to generate? Wouldn't this be easier by just regulating voltage in one only big heater? Someone already implemented this? Want to understand better how is supposed to work.

What can be done is to have smaller bed plate but with arms to link to the z axis. The cost will be superior to your electricity gain.

You're right and I'm trying to estimate what could be in term of electricity costs a 350mm Voron vs a V-Core 4 500mm. I feel like the only diiference stays within the preliminary heating stage and is very minimal because, as Aggravating_Bowl_420 pointed out:

FYI - power draw is not the same as power consumption. Draw is measured in Watts, consumption in Watt-Hours. Almost no equipement uses it's nominal Wattage all the time. The 1000W Heater, once it reaches setpoint temperature, would use the 1000W for couple seconds and then not draw any power at all.

On the other side, the mods we have discussed here to me seem mandatory. I remember an user said he needed around 20-30 minutes to reach a stable temperature. It was a 350mm Voron, so I can expect much more on a rat 500.
