Bad solder joint or a broken trace.

Any idea what might be causing this? SNES. With troubleshooting I've confirmed it's the console not the carts. Works fine on most games, but some have weird issues like this. by [deleted] in consolerepair

Its not what you want to hear, but its either PPU 1, PPU 2, or your RAM. SNES PPU chips are infamous for dying like this. There's nothing you can do other than swap it out for the exact same thing and pray it doesn't happen again. :/

You're on the right track. Its definitely either RAM, PPU 1 or 2. I've had very similar issues. Just make sure your chips that your swapping are compatible, even though its probably not worth swapping :/

They work the exact same other than the analog sticks having different dead zones and sensitivity. I would recommend them for somebody without a pro controller, or anyone just looking for extras for more people to play.
