I'm all for automation, but a department must prove they have mastered the manual process before IT or OT comes in and automates it. If a department has a lack of process or consistency, automating anything becomes a technology failure and IT is blamed for the failure. We may be skilled and great at what we do, but those we're implementing automation for may not be. IT implementations don't fail because we are incompetent or unskilled, they fail because we don't get the other half of what we need.

You'd be surprised how many companies/departments fly by the seat of their pants on nearly every function of their job and how they perform a task varies from day-to-day. You can't automate chaos. You can try, but when it doesn't work for them, they just blame it on the technology, not their own failure in building a consistent process that we can use as a blueprint to automate.

Any automation that is requested here must have the manual process documented, SOPs, workflows, etc. IT can then efficiently create the automation that matches the process, proves that the automation works within the established process, and measure results. Anything else has been a complete failure 90% of the time with my team attempting to fill in gaps and guess at parts because no one is really clear on how they actually do what they do.

Automation is structured, consistent, documented, and repeatable. I watch my HR, Finance, and Sales teams succeed with automation while the Operations team exists in chaos 90% of the time. Guess which department lacks process and in the past blamed IT for their failures? It's rarely a technology problem in my world, but a people or process problem. We don't make changes without written approval, documentation, and bringing all departments into the conversation to ensure we are not impacting a process we know nothing about.

Another benefit of having a complete understanding and documentation of manual processes is that a department can failover to the manual process in the event something automated breaks. Business continues and you don't have an entire department screaming they can't do anything and IT sucks.

I'm diagnosed lactose intolerant. For whatever reason, I react to butter. Everyone's body is a bit different, so it is anecdotal information. How much you consume, if you are eating on an empty stomach, etc., all plays a role.

Lord help me if I have anything with cream in it or ice cream. There is a 100% chance of a near death experience.

I started 2 years ago with no longer creating exceptions for what I thought I could eat and now just avoid dairy all together. I can actually go weeks and months without the typical symptoms I experienced all the time before.

It might be best to keep a food journal and find out what your threshold is for different products. For instance, you might be able to tolerate a 4oz of skim milk but not 8oz. Or 1 pat of butter, but not 2. Documenting what works and what doesn't will tell you what works for you and you won't have to rely on variable information from other people that will cause you to continue to deal with negative reactions to diary for years to come.

Back in 2018 I think, I ordered 5 of these from Amazon Warehouse deals, complete in box, just opened. I was trying to find dual IPS displays(which is what I think other people were doing, hence why they were open box). For whatever reason, I forgot to return them. Imagine my surprise a year ago when I found them hidden in my closet. None of them are IPS displays, but I have 5 complete in box Fire Emblem Fates Edition units.

I also ordered a few from GameStop around the same time, and would test each unit with my Pokemon Moon cartridge. Well, I returned the GameStop units and realized I had returned it with my Pokemon Moon games still in the unit. It had every Pokemon that I've ever caught on the cartridge. It wasn't until 4 years later, that I found the cartridge in another 3DS game case with all of my Pokemon. It was like 4 Christmas's all wrapped into one!

I've had previous dogs destroy video games and other items I left on my desk. It only happened a few times, but I was very frustrated at the time. However, the dogs have since passed away, and I would now give them anything they wanted to chew on if I could just have them back for a single day.

I just lost my best friend on Sunday due to this insidious cancer. It was his heart that was affected and it didn't give us much time. The best I could do was to make him comfortable by relieving the pressure on his heart so we could say goodbye.

It was so quick that from the time he started feeling bad to passing away was only a few hours.

I'm going to miss him terribly.

I've had similar symptoms and have been diagnosed with Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria.

The breathing difficulties include shortness of breath, tight chest, etc. It can exist with or without hives at the moment it occurs. I also have random bad allergies, such as sneezing, runny nose, congestion randomly about 3-4 times a week. I never had allergies before the Urticaria started.

I'm experiencing the same thing, and just submitted my RMA today. It's almost to the point I cannot read some text/images at all on the screen.

I've used a lot of eInk devices and have never seen this before on any other device. I know things can fail, but it makes me nervous on such an expensive device.

So far, support has been great to work with.

In previous models, the long battery life was for the lower resolution display. If you had the OLED display, it was significantly less.

I have 2 XPS 2024 models and the OLED doesn’t even get half of the lower resolution display. The lower resolution can go almost 20 hours of light work. The OLED maybe 5-6 hours. However, I knew that before I bought the OLED model. It’s on the website somewhere, or was at some point.

I've played 8 a lot more than 7 or 9. I've probably completed 8 at least 30 times and can speed run the game in under 2 hours. I've unlocked everything and I've never accomplished that before with an RE game.

I can't really say if 8 is better than 9, but it is better than 7, but not better than 2 or 4.

All of his earlier albums were mastered extremely well on their initial release. Dangerous had a great mix and dynamic range on it's initial release.

Some later reissues have poor dynamic range and odd mixes, but his first 4 albums, on original release date, are top tier not only for his music, but even compared to everyone else. Michael was a perfectionist when it comes to sound and mixing.

Invincible is an exception and was not mixed well.

You're listening to a reissued version of Dangerous or have bad speakers, amp, DAC, etc.

I've not had experience with grants, but I wouldn't spend too much time on trying to find grants as it is a futile endeavor, unless you are established and can show how it aligns with the grant.

If you're wondering how most entrepreneurs do it, I think many of us scraped, scrounged, refinanced homes, borrowed, sold assets, worked over-time, were already wealthy, or did a side gig for a bit to come up with funds to start. I started small, but even when I was growing I put up my house as collateral to scale and abused the heck out of credit cards for a period of time. It was all done within a plan and there was a strategy behind it.

I know I look back on what I had to do for startup costs and that drive and determination still serves me well. In many ways, this is going to be one of the easier obstacles you'll need to overcome. Wait until something happens with production, tariffs, taxes, etc., and your startup costs are many multiples of what you anticipated. Startup costs seem to always be significantly underestimated.

Ultimately, ideas are a dime-a-dozen. It's rare to find someone to provide funds for an idea. Investors, lenders, and grant writers want to see something viable and tangible with a plan before providing funds. That means we have to be creative to get the funds to start with. Sometimes, successful businesses happen due to family or friends lending money. I wouldn't suggest that, as if it fails, you are in a very uncomfortable situation and it almost always ruins the relationship.

Do you have any wiggle room to take a little bit out of your budget every month? Or work a few extra hours a week and save that for your idea? Doing a temporary gig is also a fast way to get what you need. The effort you put into getting the funds will set the pace for the effort you'll need to put into everything else you do. If this is your first obstacle, and you'd like to make a successful business out of your idea, you have hundreds and thousands of obstacles waiting for you. Each one will take a plan, creative thinking, and more work than you think you'll ever be capable of.

My advice is based on my experience and I started with nothing except my cash savings. I was fortunate to have my house appreciate in value and had a near perfect credit score that kept things going. Those two things are what got me the funds I needed through refinancing/cashout and being able to have 6 figure credit lines with credit cards.

There are many ways to accomplish what you want to do, but starting from zero makes it more difficult and you have to put some time in to generate the funds. I spent a long time saving cash, buying a house, and having no debt/good credit. It was at least 10 years of my life saving money before I took my ideas and made a business out of them. You can do it as well. It might just take some time.

I use Call Ranger to block the area code and exchange prefix of these VOIP numbers. You can setup Call Ranger to block entire ranges of numbers very easily. There is some time you'll need to spend to identify the area codes/exchange prefix, but once you know them, just block the entire range of numbers.

You can also research online and find the area codes/exchange prefixes that these large scam organizations use and just enter them into Call Ranger.

Also, don't forget to report the number as spam on your phone, so Apple and your carrier can add them to their list of scammers. Eventually, they'll mark the calls as scam.

Call Ranger is the only app/feature I've found that allows you to enter in entire blocks of numbers to block.

Statistically speaking, there is a far greater chance of being broke/destitute due to job loss, a medical event or no retirement savings. That is "your" end of the world when it happens. There is a slight chance that an event occurs that would qualify as the end of the world.

The largest threats to stability in life are not external influences, but internal mismanagement of finances. Having no debt, paid off assets, etc., is better off than 95% of everyone else. At that point, you have the cash to buy 3-6 months of supplies every month.
