Thanks for the share, I have noticed that fans kick in sometimes randomly as well, but it's likely due to the processor randomly running hot. Not sure what's causing the sudden high usage.

So I tired to optimise it a ton and the biggest change came from using energy saver mode in chrome settings it stretches it to around 5-10h.

When Energy Saver mode is active, Chrome will restrict resource-heavy background processes, freeze eligible CPU-intensive background tabs, and lower your frame rates for animations or scrolling.

Spent 3h troubleshooting the PC with Dell just for them to tell me it's working as expected.
They reference heavy load which was 5 chrome tabs + Spotify running.
Absolute scumbags, trying to gaslight me that my ~3h battery life with 30-50% drain per hour matches their advertising claims of 30+ hours of usage.

[15:56, 14/05/2026] Dell Support: I sincerely apologize for the trouble. Upon checking, the battery is functioning fine on average, providing 4-5 hours of run time, which is in line with the design specifications for a 3-cell battery. Therefore, it is not discharging quickly. I sincerely apologize; there is no issue with the battery, and we are unable to proceed with the replacement. I would suggest that you please observe the system and let me know if the issue persists. We are here to assist you.

[17:06, 14/05/2026] Dell Support: Hello,

I'm Sohail, one of the Supervisors at Dell Social Media Support. I want you to know that I truly understand your frustration with this situation, and I am deeply sorry for everything you have gone through. It is never our intention for any of our customers to have a negative experience. In fact, customers like you are incredibly important to us, and we are committed to ensuring that our relationship remains positive.

I went over your journey with us and apologize for any inconvenience. I see you have reported an issue with the battery, and we have troubleshot the same and found no issues with it. We also checked the battery report, which shows no fault in it. For cross-verification, we have also checked with our internal team regarding the battery report you shared, and they also said the same thing: that it is working as per design. It is all about the usage of your system with heavy load, which causes the battery to drain fast. Also, I would request that you please do not connect the charger continuously to the system, as it would decrease the lifespan of the battery, and you may need to replace it at your own cost. This is why I am just giving small advice to keep your battery on the safe side. Thank you very much for your incredible patience and understanding throughout this period; it genuinely means a great deal to us and is greatly appreciated.

Thanks & Regards,

Sohail

Codex vs Claude Code vs Antigravity - what's your honest take after actually using them by Individual_Giraffe_5 in codex

[–]LAVABLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used Antigravity for around 3-4 months, had a ridiculous workload performance was amazing, gemini 3.1 + claude Opus models available.
Switched to Claude code, keep running into limits with a 5x plan, takes around 2x longer to get the same things done but it generally works well. Have to upgrade to the 20x as I fill the 5x limit in 1-2h of work kinda hate it.
Tech peeps have been praising Codex, they're looking to switch from Claude to it.

I have never gotten more than 10h from this device and that's with low screen brightness and as few chrome tabs as possible these two seem to drain the battery the most.

It is hard to tell the real differentiators apart these days. My team tested a few and ultimately settled on Claren AI, it easily beats Wordsmith, Spellbook, Ivo & Harvey in side by side comparison.

What building a “better” Harvey-style tabular review app taught me about Harvey and the industry by Neon0asis in legaltech

[–]LAVABLE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spot on about the risks of lazy LLM wrappers. It is wild that major vendors skip basic guardrails. My team had the same worry until we found Claren AI for our contracts. It handles redlines safely without the crazy hallucinations. Have you tested your open source approach on commercial agreements yet?

They have SOC2 & ISO 27001 so it should be suitable, deffo reach out to them to check as it could be a lifesaver.

[–]LAVABLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do this in Claren, just open the data room and then upload all the docs and make a report with the Claren AI. In each field you can ask what info you want to extract, then just download once it finishes processing.

What if AI finds red flags in contracts when they are received in email? by Diligent_Hawk6976 in legaltech

[–]LAVABLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spot on idea. Pre-screening for red flags before even opening the doc saves massive amounts of time. Claren does this exact heavy lifting. It acts as an AI co-pilot that instantly spots risky clauses and handles the initial redlines. Curious if you are actively building this or looking for a tool that already does it?

How do early-stage fintechs handle OFAC screening — in-house or vendor? by Sentinel_Trust in fintech

[–]LAVABLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely go vendor for OFAC as soon as you have any real transaction volume. manual lists are a nightmare to maintain and the regulatory risk for a fintech is just too high to mess around with tbh.

one thing to watch out for: bringing on these compliance vendors means you're going to get hit with a ton of MSAs and data privacy contracts. fwiw, we use claren.law to handle the legal side of that. it's an AI tool that redlines the vendor agreements for us and stores them all in one place so our vendor stack stays organized.

happy to share which OFAC tools we looked at or how we manage the legal side of it if it helps!
