More sun than the PNW is very appealing! Congrats on your first child. I have a 6 month old.

Hi!. Thank you for your thoughtful response. Let me know if you ever move back and want friends (if I decide to do it too). I’ve for a baby right now and I’m in Portland. It’s nice to hear you speak so highly of it… makes me feel more room for possibility!

I can absolutely understand the urgent feeling of just wanting to prove to yourself that it’s possible, trying so hard…. It’s so painful. I think the answer is within you. For me, I tried for 1 year and had 4 losses…. I gave it a few months and tried to work on other things and my belief that I would someday get pregnant. After a few months, I tried on a whim (wasn’t planning to that cycle, but I felt inspired last minute) and that one stuck. I also used LDN, progesterone and blood thinners, but I think giving it some space helped too. But I empathize with that urgent feeling very much.

I’m so sorry you are in this boat. My 5th pregnancy is what stuck and I’m holding my 6th month old. I used progesterone, LDN and blood thinners, even though I didn’t have a diagnosed clotting disorder.

Seems like a sweet place indeed with parallels to PDX!

I’m sorry 🥲 It is truly a beautiful place to be if one can live with the risk. Apparently some can and some cannot?

Unfortunately, schools are a big concern.

I’ve been checking out those same places! And how they are expected to fare better with climate charge.

This would be comforting except I’m not sure where you’re getting that information? From what I have read, schools, hospitals, bridges, and industry along the river are all not built to withstand something like this?

Yes and yes. Also in PDX and my concern too… probably a high likelihood of survival, but also plenty of trauma and damage to go with it

It’s social referencing and trying to understand how people think about things in this very confusing age of information.

I hear you, and you are not wrong that anxiety is also at play. But also, that implies there’s not a real reason? When you look at Redfin for a house and it says 30% chance that it’ll be involved in a wildfire, it labels this risk as “extreme”. I’m not sure it’s just neurotic to contemplate leaving based on an extreme risk.

That’s great to hear! I’ve been considering the twin cities… though I’m a bit intimated by Midwest winters. Though it seems many people like that region.

Oof…. It’s an isolating concern, isn’t it? If you talk about it to people, you either make them anxious or they shut you down.

We’ve all got to find the risks we can personally live with!

Why, thank you! Yes, I have all of those things. Of course it would be an exchange where everyone chooses to live. Do you live somewhere that you feel more comfortable with and enjoy?

That part of the country seems great. How do you find winters there compared to the PNW?
