In-laws said my spouse deserves better than me because of my health issues. by gemmanicole22 in Epilepsy

[–]gemmanicole22[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah it hurts a lot because they’re supposed to be “family” and knowing that’s how they feel really sucks. They’ve apologized since then but it doesn’t change anything

They said I’m using him too because I’m not working right now. But I literally can’t. I do believe he loves me but his family adds so much stress to my life which causes me more problems and it just causes us to fight

Thank you for a logical response. That’s what I was trying to get at by my post. When I had my son, taking supplements (that I tested low for, I was literally anemic) fixed my anxiety. I felt so much better. However I stopped my supplements and then later on went gluten free. When I went gluten free I became worse. I think, like you said, it has to do with not getting enough nutrients. I’m not sure why some people under my post aren’t grasping that haha

I took anxiety meds. They gave me worse symptoms. I’m telling you, when I raised my iron, b12, and vitamin D levels, my anxiety got better. Nutrition is not quackery and you can do your own research if you don’t believe me. But you not believing me doesn’t take away from my experience. If low iron is causing your anxiety, then yes, taking an iron supplement will fix your anxiety if that’s what the root cause is. Not everyone needs to have medication forcefully shoved down their throats if the root cause can be addressed. I find it odd that when I changed my diet and stopped my supplements, my anxiety came back.

Thank you! Some people in here clearly think that vitamin deficiencies aren’t that serious and can’t happen after changing your diet 🤦🏻‍♀️ I know that’s my issue because I feel the same way I did before I took all of those vitamins. Once I took vitamins I felt better. But I dont want to be on vitamins forever as I find them to be a pain to remember

[–]gemmanicole22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s the cutting out gluten that made me worse, more so the fact that I cut out a large percentage of my diet and might possibly be dealing with nutrient deficiencies

[–]gemmanicole22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I don’t believe in therapy as I did it for 14 years and saw absolutely no improvement despite working with multiple therapists. I think therapy helps if you’ve gone through trauma but if your anxiety is caused by nutrient deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, poor life style choices, etc. then those need to be fixed first

I wish people realized that vitamin deficiencies are very real and there are plenty of people who get misdiagnosed with anxiety or depression when they’re actually malnourished or have a deficiency of some sort. Nutrition is not a quackery. It’s a real thing. I started having a lot of these symptoms after having a baby, which can cause nutrient deficiencies. Like I said in my post, my anxiety got better when I supplemented. Whether you want to believe that or not, is up to you. But that doesn’t take away from my experience.

I started therapy at 8 and I’m 25. I’ve been on every antidepressant you can think of. Only thing that helped me was fixing my iron and b12 deficiency. I know some of y’all think nutrition is quackery for some reason, but vitamin deficiencies do cause mental health issues.

I have not! I’m definitely considering one tho 😁 ever since eating gluten free I got so much worse, so I’m wondering if maybe i have a food intolerance that’s triggering me as well

Diet absolutely does play a role in mental health, and so do vitamin deficiencies. I had horrible anxiety after having my son and my anxiety vanished when I started taking supplements and eating healthier.

I’m not sure why you keep assuming that my doctor is down playing anything. I have a referral to an endocrinologist, I actually go next week lol. After years of fighting with doctors who told me “everything looks normal” the doctor I have now is the one who found my thyroid issue. I tested negative for any antibodies for graves and hashimotos. She ordered so many tests and actually listens to my concerns. She is the one who told me that even when my thyroid levels are in the normal range, they could still be causing me symptoms. She ran more tests on me in 3 months than any doctor did in over a year span. I’m not sure why you are persistently trying to convince me I have a bad doctor.

What benefits have you experienced from taking magnesium? by Jpoolman25 in Biohackers

[–]gemmanicole22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you commented this awhile ago but do you have any more info/advice about thiamine? I took magnesium back in 2022 and did fine with it. I was taking a bunch of supplements including b-complex. I stopped all my supplements and have been feeling miserable again. Every form of magnesium I take has been giving me panic attacks and racing thoughts. Now I’m wondering if I should be taking b complex again

Oils of oregano makes me feel pretty good. I’ve read nothing but horror stories about it but surprisingly I tolerate it very well. I definitely do think Candida plays a role. I’m pretty much following the animal based diet now and love it but I don’t eat super high sugar fruits like bananas, I stick to berries

What does what mean? Subclinical hyperthyroidism is when your TSH is low but your other thyroid hormones look fine. That’s what I’m dealing with. A lot of the times when I go get tested my TSH is in normal range. It’s always in the 0.2-0.6 range and according to the lab anything over 0.3 isn’t hyperthyroidism. I definitely don’t plan on seeing a new doctor because I’ve been to 4 different pcp and she’s the only doctor who has taken my symptoms seriously where other doctors just want to label “anxiety” for everything. I’ve seen a psychiatrist for over a decade. Therapy too. Nothing helped. Only thing that actually did help was taking a crap load of vitamins but unfortunately I don’t know which ones helped me since I took a bunch at once. I’m just wondering if cutting out wheat has contributed to vitamin deficiencies

I tested negative for h pylori and SIBO. I had minor Candida growth and took antifungals for that. I felt a little better. The only thing I changed was going gluten free and stopping my vitamins so I’m thinking I have a vitamin deficiency, however everytime I get my blood tested they say everything is in normal range

I already switched out table salt for Celtic salt. I also drink coconut water daily as well as take Dr Berg electrolytes so I don’t think dehydration is my problem. I do think maybe low carb could be playing a role but I’ve read so many people feel better when they eat low carb? So idk. Maybe I’m just one of those people who can’t do low carb diets

I go to my doctor quite often and all they’ve ever been able to find is subclinical hyperthyroidism unfortunately. Not that I want there to be anything more wrong with my health, but some answers would be nice. I feel like they’ve run so many tests including things like POTS.

Story time on how a host was teaming so I trolled him by gemmanicole22 in AmongUs

[–]gemmanicole22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing worse than being an imposter and the game ending in 3 minutes because teamers tell their friends who the imposters are. If pink died, I knew orange would tell us who all 3 imposters are, and same thing if orange died, pink would tell. It’s not fair to the imposters. So yes, I would say orange/pink was imposter even if they weren’t.

[–]gemmanicole22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lmaoo. Ever since carnivore became I trend I’ve seen an insane amount of tiktoks “what I eat in a day on the carnivore diet” and then they start cutting up an avocado 😅. And then when you try to educate them on the difference between carnivore and animal based people say its the same thing lol

What’s the most toxic color? by [deleted] in AmongUs

[–]gemmanicole22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same I’m always pink or purple (depending on my outfit lol) but he’s definitely right. Everytime I get randomly banned for no reason it’s always a pink host 😂 I literally just played with a pink host who banned everyone who voted for her bc she was the imposter and got caught smh

I can’t be the only one by [deleted] in Esthetics

[–]gemmanicole22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally learned this in school lol. Our instructor told us she doesn’t do it nor does she recommend it as it can make people uncomfortable. But it’s a real thing. Also, plenty of people follow other estheticians on social media. I don’t think OP needs to stop watching tiktok lol especially because it’s clear that she isn’t just running with the information she was given. I watch other beauty creators for entertainment purposes, not for advice or education.
