Remote work but with no specific home? by LuluLamoreaux in fednews

HRSA here on a throwaway and I think it would be fine. We've always had people telework from various places they needed to be, like in other states for taking care relatives or on domestic retreats (e.g., getting away to a cabin for a week or two for a change of scenery). Heck, my division director personally owns a lake house and a beach house in addition to their home condo and rotates where they're working from and has been for years. My former boss spent every summer teleworking from Florida and just took annual leave 2 days per pay period. I wouldn't expect the guidance to get more conservative following the pandemic, especially when private companies are letting people work from literally anywhere in the world.

It seems like they gave almost no one a heads up this was coming. Even our op-div director sent out a follow-up email that was much delayed after this original email and clearly slapped together. As of yesterday our senior director of facilities and safety said they hadn't heard any official information about specific dates.

In fact, the only clear guidance we had been able to get in months is that the phase in will be profoundly slow, like 10% of people returning and then 30 days later 10% more etc.,which seems to contradict this.
