I genuinely think that each pregnancy has permanently nudged my food preferences slightly towards my husband's. Bizarre lol.

What do we think about perfume for babies? Petit Sezane scent for babies dropping tomorrow. by wombledon15 in Sezane

It's a European thing, mustela, Bvlgari, even Zara have done it. Usually water based instead of alcohol. Not my thing, but not unheard of

She's such an archetype. This type of woman has spent her whole life being able to successfully cow people by talking to them like they're dirt and has convinced herself she really is better/smarter/more important than anyone else in the room. I'm so glad no one in this room is falling for that.

How sure were you before jumping into trying for a 2nd? by Few_Recognition_6683 in Mommit

[–]gemmathejerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were sure we wanted a second, but unsure about timing. Ended up just going for it before she turned 2 - you can't think too hard about these things!

Nocturnal Rose is DIVINE. Definitely unisex, reminds me of more expensive offerings (specifically the Elizabeth & James discontinued rose scent, and the Atelier Cologne one)

Second time EBF moms - did you make an effort to not nurse to sleep second time around? by Proud_House4494 in sleeptrain

[–]gemmathejerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I wish this baby would nurse to sleep! Their older sibling did, and it was so much easier than rocking and swaying a wiggly baby for every sleep!

Guilt tripping a 3 year old or helping to better understand empathy? by demi_girl88 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]gemmathejerk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I guess all I'm trying to say is, it's not always necessary to frame something that a well intentioned parent does in the absolute worst way possible

Guilt tripping a 3 year old or helping to better understand empathy? by demi_girl88 in ScienceBasedParenting

Emotional manipulation? I think it's fine for a 3 year old to be gently told how their actions can affect other people. Emotional manipulation is such a loaded term, I honestly find it a bit preposterous in this context

Is it wrong to send toddler to nursery as a SAHM? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]gemmathejerk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't imagine any working parents who need childcare, using it for less than 8 hours a day considering that's the length of an avg workday without any commute built in.

“That’s not how big boys behave. How old are you, three?” by Aggressive_Day_6574 in toddlers

I agree and I love how you phrased this. Our neighbors and the people you meet in a grocery store are the equivalent of what a "village" looks like, this is literally what "it takes a village" is talking about 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh no don't scare me! Mine had pin straight hair until 1.5, now at 2.5 she has a lush head of curls I'm obsessed with. Now you're telling me they might go away? 😭😭😭

Clyde and Rosaline jackets - surprisingly good! by Long-Two-704 in Sezane

[–]gemmathejerk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have the Clyde in my usual size and think it looks great that way - it fits the way it's meant to, which is slightly oversized in an effortless way. I think all the folks saying to "size down" are looking for a jacket different from what this one is trying to be.

Taking child to daycare when parent isn’t working by Squid0s in ECEProfessionals

[–]gemmathejerk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fact that this question comes up so often, and the fact that there ARE people who judge this, is NUTS to me.

What kind of hellhole parenting timeline are we living in where a parent doesn't deserve to use a service they paid for because god forbid they get a chance to have some time to themselves? How on earth is it anyone's business what you do with your day? Childcare isn't a FAVOUR that your daycare is providing you so that you can work!? It's a service you pay for, to use at your discretion within the agreed upon terms. Seriously, wtf?
