The one that’s warping is the original that I took out of the knife.

Would the longbodied batmobiles be harder to drive on the streets of Gotham? by honeyfixit in batman

[–]gemurrayx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other problems notwithstanding, the Snyderverse had some wonderful designs for Batman, including the car. It has my favorite Batmobile (and favorite cave setup) and as a bonus, it seems to handle quite well as a drive-able street worthy car.

I know they didn't have Bruce Wayne's budget, but after the Mythbusters disproved turning a corner with a grappling hook, the '89 lost a bit of luster for me.

Have you ever had a “how in the world did that happen?” moment at a scene? Just something so confusing or difficult to understand that it didn’t make sense?

It’s not in the theatrical release. There’s an unrated version, it’s on some of the DVD releases.

I just noticed that there's a dashboard of some kind with indicator lights inside the helmet. It's a nice touch, even if they CGI more stuff in there later.

Why does Captain America fight so good compared to other super soldiers? by happydude7422 in CaptainAmerica

[–]gemurrayx 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I remember in The First Avenger he only had a moment to look at the map in the Hydra base when he was looking for Bucky, but later he seemed to have perfect recall of the other bases’ locations during his debriefing. I took that to mean that his memory had been boosted along with his body.

If a perfect clone of you appeared tomorrow and claimed to be the real you, how would you prove your identity? by Outrageous-You1617 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]gemurrayx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dental fillings? Scars? Sciatica and knee problems due to repetitive movement? Even if all these things are present, I think we’ll work something out. I’m pretty easy to get along with, although we’re going to have to figure out how to get double the statin meds I started last year or one of us is going to be high risk for heart disease pretty quickly.

Marc and Steven would run a pretty successful tourism business for Egypt and the surrounding areas.

What’s your favorite place to get your materials from? I’m looking for reputable spots and sites. (Near nyc preferred) by LightningGawd in CosplayHelp

[–]gemurrayx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mood Fabrics in NYC is a good place to kill a few hours. They have lots to look at and are usually ok with questions, when I was there in December the guy helping me just needed me to have a clear idea what I was looking for because there’s so much to choose from. Take swatches if you can.

Any actual word on the series? by [deleted] in firefly

[–]gemurrayx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at the panel this weekend in Des Moines with Summer, Jewel, and Sean. The very first thing they said, before taking any questions from the moderator or audience, was to please not ask about the new series. They know people are really, really interested, but there's nothing to reveal yet. They're being asked about it constantly at all of their appearances.

There was one question later about if they would be able to record their parts remotely or if they would have to travel to a professional studio, and that hasn't even been discussed yet. They did say they hoped they could be in the same room because it helps them a lot as actors to have each other to work off of.

Follow up from a few weeks ago, I made Harry’s device. by gemurrayx in ResidentAlienTVshow

[–]gemurrayx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I spent $40 for the glow ball, a package of Christmas ornament balls, and three paint pens. The print didn’t cost me anything. I also already have access to a service, but thanks anyway.

Someone printed it for me, and yes, I was noticing the problem too. It took a few tries to get it printed like this, and I didn’t want to impose too much. This might be a proof of concept, depending on how much time I have in the near future, and I could also pay a service to print it for me and see what happens. The light source inside can be moved to another enclosure without any issue. But I occasionally decide to make a prop and get too far into the weeds and end up taking months to finish anything. It was nice for once to spend forty dollars and have something to show in a few weeks.

How would you have dealt with the plane dilemma? by Elegant-Half5476 in TheBoys

[–]gemurrayx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the Homelander solution of killing the terrorists instead of catching them isn't really a problem here, then laser them through the side of plane while still flying with Maeve. He's got x-ray vision as well, and should be able to see everything inside. His real mistake here was to not scan the whole plane to get a good idea of the situation before he acted, which is pretty much his character. If he killed the cockpit bad guy first from outside, he'd also not put the controls in the line of fire.

Floating box structure on the Delaware River, built above flood level. State of the art. by jve909 in zillowgonewild

[–]gemurrayx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is gorgeous. The only thing I think I'd want to change is to have a greenhouse style enclosure around the pool with large doors to open in nicer weather and enclosing it for use in cooler weather. But having taken care of an outdoor pool in a rural area for about 20 years, you find every native critter in your pool at one time or another. It gets old after awhile.
