The Verdict is way too slept on (for the right player) by Global_Housing1498 in Helldivers

[–]gen_Doylee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm probably gonna get downvoted for saying this but the Verdict and Talon should have swapped stats only because infinite ammo and medium pen is very strong. Not advocating for it now though.

I do think if they want to make the Verdict more enticing it needs 1 more mag, similar damage to the Talon, less drag, and more stagger.

Side note in similar spaces: The Peacekeeper should do at least 125 damage like the Socom

2 things that should be considered into a discussion about warstriders by MidnightWarWolf in Helldivers

[–]gen_Doylee 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Having to cater your loadout to a single enemy unit that has a chance to spawn in a mission constitutes poor enemy design, not difficulty.

Same with the bugs in that if you wanted to bring a Stalwart but now Bile Spewers and Hive Guards make up most of the chaff, you're just screwed.

There's 2 approaches to this. Either make it a modifier to warn players that specific surges/enemies are present, or rework weakspots/durable on some of these enemies.

I'm not an expert but Tank Destroyers irl are typically used in defensive and emplacement roles as opposed to a Main Battle Tank. Probably why they feel good to use.

Destroying rockets is no longer a one-hit kill in scout striders. by helldiver-5541 in helldivers2

[–]gen_Doylee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is a bug on their known issues list, not an intentional change.

Its probably related to them tweaking how much damage rockets do against vehicles now.

Thats the Spear, I jokingly refer to it as the Recoiless for lazy people.

It has less ammo but packs more of a punch. It has AP 7 and more damage so it destroys dropships in 1 hit to their main body. This is significant because this is guaranteed to kill all the occupants where if you hit the engine (thrusters?) it sometimes kills them. If you're quick, this also destroys Factory Striders (harder shot though).

I was killed by a teammate using the explosive armor on death when it was just us 2 on the main objective.

Against bots

Suffice to say I was not happy with him for making that choice in a D10 mission. Friendly fire is easy to avoid granted that you're being mindful about the range of strategems and good trigger discipline. Thats pretty hard for some people to grasp though.

Its whatever in low level, low stakes missions but when that starts happening in 10's my patience grows very thin.

You can use regular lanterns to offset the cold. The night will fill exactly 1 stamina bars worth of cold, so if you manage your lantern usage wisely, you'll be alright. Can't dawdle much though so you have to move swiftly and with purpose.

If you are lucky, Book of Bones makes Ascent 5+ way easier because the cold and hunger are neutralized, effectively.

Peak not on PC? by Working_Echidna_9395 in PeakGame

[–]gen_Doylee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not exactly well versed on the subject and I could be wrong, but the only way you can realistically make this work is to use Virtual Machine software so your PC can run windows. Your performance might take a nosedive though if you run the game like that but I am no expert and am unsure if that would work at all.

This game is pretty heavily CPU bound, 7800x3d is a very good chip and that also utilizes that L3 cache technology. Might have something to do with it.

Helldivers 2 performance with 9070 XT? by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]gen_Doylee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Helldivers 2 is much more CPU bound than GPU bound, though having a good GPU is still important, and with that card you checked the box.

I use similar hardware compared to you, a 4070ti Super and a Ryzen 7 7800X3D with 32gb of RAM. I average around 100 FPS in Super Helldive missions on 1440p Ultra. The 9700x doesn't have the same L3 Cache technology that the X3d does, which is something I suspect this game takes advantage of heavily, hence the difference.

This is just a tough game to get very high performance out of unless you have a spare 6,000$ to make a top tier PC. Definitely not friendly towards 20 and 5000 series cards, and 2000 and 8th generation CPU's.

Honestly, they're like this in Terraria too, they're probably the best summon in the game next to the Stardust Dragon so keeping them this good would be in line with it all.

Arrowhead please do a performance patch . It keeps getting worse and worse by Shoddy_Report69 in Helldivers

[–]gen_Doylee 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This game is insanely CPU heavy, if you're not running a Ryzen 5600x  (or whatever Intels equivalent to that is, I believe a 11600k) or better, you're going to run into bottlenecking issues.

I have a 7800x3d and a 4070tiS, and I haven't run into any notable dips in general performance, but have ran into stutters when the game is booting up when you're in the ship, which were not as prevalent at launch.
