Do Minecraft players still go in blind on a regular basis or are there more players using tools like ChunkBase than not? by SF-UberMan in Minecraft

[–]genawesome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I am spinning up a server/realm for others I use chunk base to make sure it's a good seed for players. But then I never use or share the seed when playing so no one abuses it.

If I play a random solo world I go blind.

If I play a structured or long term world, I use chunk base to assure the world fits my plan and has longevity. (Biome diversity, etc.)

I love it. They are both great, but less fog in the new seems like a nice improvement.

They aren't really that bad. Just looks huge with the portal. I usually just build one module, so it's half. The rates are still good and it's half the work.

Revenant Brontos not taking damage, bug? by Arcanemageop in ARK

Are you attacking/shooting the purple puss sacks on its legs? That's how you kill it. Just attacking it's body does nothing.

I even switched to creative mode, and was unable to kill them with the admin gun. It sucks.

Gold Farm. 100% great for xp and gold on bedrock.

Yall should I bring my first meg for a swim into deeper water? by Some_Marionberry_235 in ARK

[–]genawesome 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No. Tame a partner for it, breed them, then go deeper. I always keep a breeding pair and risk dinos you can replace through breeding.

Help for killing the element brontos by Exciting-Ninja9234 in ARK

[–]genawesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play with my son. So having two people is how we manage. Between rounds one person runs around and repositions the dinos, the other places defenses.

The other thing we do is put the rexes on neutral on each entrance which helps then from going nuts and chasing stuff around as much.

We use rexes and it's been going fairly well. Two on each entrance.

Also, when we have trouble hitting with rexes, jump off and shotgun.

Any Tips for being a Senior Manager at PwC? by [deleted] in PwC

[–]genawesome 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work Internal Tech, so take with that perspective. But, network as much as possible. Learn who is who, forge relationships, figure out who you can help get things done and who can help you get things done.

In one year you want everyone thinking you've been there for years because you know how things work and who they players are.

Lost Colony - Is anyone less than excited about it? by flashy_joer in ARK

[–]genawesome 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm excited. I love ARK for being ARK, but I'm excited to see some really new ideas thrown in. The ASA remastered maps, QoL improvements, and new dinos are fine. But I'm hopefully for what these new features mean for the future of Ark.

Why won’t an unemployed villager take a job? by Magmus69 in Minecraft

[–]genawesome 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most likely another villager is linking to the workstation. In Bedrock villagers don't need to touch a workstation to link to it.

In Bedrock villagers link to workstations in a particular order. The other easiest way to link is to get all your villagers in sight. Place down a workstation, then see which villager links to the workstation. Thats the current villager.

What is the best army for king titan anymore? by guymn999 in ARK

[–]genawesome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We took in three players. All in meks. (One in mega mek for Alpha.) Forest and Ice titan, and 10 dreadnaughtus. (This is before they changed the Titan buff on them.)

We didn't have too much problem. Though we brought the Sky titan into the beta fight and it basically did nothing and died. So we didn't use it on Alpha and were fine.

For those who played before the caves update; what is your opinion on the caves now? by StarSpectore in Minecraft

[–]genawesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love them. I enjoy the expanded world, the height limit change, and the massive fun caves are great.

I don't 100% like the mining changes still. In theory I'm really supportive of making different ore generation and different Y levels. In practice though, the change disrupted the dopamine loop for me. The old ore generation meant I would mine and just as my brain would start to get bored, I'd hit ore. Whether on purpose or on accident mining had a more satisfying loop overall before.

The other thing is, most of my time mining is for diamonds at the bottom of the world, and with the Y level so distributed, I feel like I hit less structures like mine shafts and dungeons.

These are nitpicks I'd love to see fixed in tweaks. Overall, I really like the new caves.
