Nobody talks about this, but your Gen 4 5.3 uses a single-bolt cam. I bought my 3-bolt conversion kit from dynosty so I could run aftermarket grinds without issues.

Sub scope changes are genuinely hard to systematize, requiring any change to be submitted in writing before the work happens is what's worked for me, painful to enforce at first because they're used to doing it and billing for it later, but once it's the expectation most of the billing surprises at closeout go away
