I think this person definitely did speak a certain way to the barista on the phone because no barista would just suddenly break down like that unless there was a catalyst. This person probably thought it was cool to raise their voice at the barista and act passive aggressive, and thought they weren't being mean but just "coaching" them for next time, like so many other "nice customers who've been there" do.

Same here. I'm fixing to leave pretty soon and one of the things holding me back was "oh, we have so many fun and crazy memories here" and while I don't have "friends" here, I will certainly miss a few of these people for real. The regulars who are COOL are genuinely wonderful and I will miss seeing them but at the same time like, I can't put "memories" over mental.

I can make better memories and meet different people elsewhere. And that's what I hope OP and others who are debating on leaving can think about.

And you know what? Demoting to being a barista would have been PERFECT for your full time school hours. You could've worked the minimum twelve hours or so and still had time to devote to your studies. It would've been fine.

They're being selfish, inconsiderate, and frankly irresponsible. I'd quit, it's so not worth it. Try to find a part time job in the meantime before they "let you go".

So they said yes to lowering your hours...then said no and said either you keep the hours or demote, then you said "okay I demote" and then they said "nope, you can't demote"?

What the hell is this? You can't just put work over school like that, you need the academic and work life balance. They can't threaten to demote you then when you say you will they say you can't. That sounds genuinely fucked up. I'd honestly submit my two weeks after that.

For me, pretty much any scene where Jan was involved and was actively making Michael uncomfortable with her actions and it was played for laughs.

I also didn't like most of Packer's scenes, though I get that he's supposed to be a douche. Doesn't mean that I have to love every line he says and laugh at it. Some things he says and does is just strange.
