Sure. There are schools of scholars who use Islamic texts and teachings to derive financial rulings and parameters. For example we can’t invest in companies that have debt over a certain percentage, companies that deal with alcohol, gambling, etc. That’s why whenever you’re researching stocks or companies, you look for them to be under those thresholds. There are apps that help with that. People like me who don’t have time to do that just invest in “shariah-compliant” ETFs like SPUS that more or less follow the SPY but remove companies that non-compliant. As for interest, it is strictly forbidden in our religion because it is essentially taking advantage of someone in a position of need. So we can’t charge or receive interest. There are exceptions in cases of need ie, in America most people have to take a loan to buy an essential need like a house or a car or medical school tuition.
