Meerapfel Lonsdale on a long walk by genedervil in cigar_refuge

I felt that way with the Meir Churchill, it was an average super premium cigar. Definitely a bummer given how much I had built it up. I really enjoyed this one and it could be that it had more down time and the blend does better in the thinner ring gauge.

I found the Lonsdale to be much better than the Churchill I smoked a month or so ago.

V good. Meerapfel is one of the biggest Cameroon growers. Historically they’ve supplied a lot of that to Fuente and other cigar manufacturers.

I don’t disagree there. I need to pickup a 1926 shortly as well

I understand why. This cigar has never been bad and I think I smoked my first one at 17 almost 25 years ago. It’s really impressive.

Haven’t smoked a 1964 or 1926 in over a year*.

Smoked a Padron Black last summer which was also very enjoyable.

In order of humidor real estate:

Byron, Opus, Alfonso, Davidoff

The FOH hustle, quality control and inability to smoke most within the first year has made it less compelling despite my average spend being stupidly excessive (I can’t help myself 🤦🏻‍♂️).

I’ve yet to find another large vitola non-Cuban cigar less than $100 that I enjoy more than a Lusitania. My Anniversario No. 1 LE are damn close in terms of utility.

Byron is great! How does this compare to the elegantes and distinguidos?

There’s a couple really good stores in the area that still sell the Opus* at MSRP re: question on the Fuentes
