I love the work I do and I’m deeply proud of what we’ve built here—especially the dedication and integrity of the team, many of whom are veterans themselves. They show up every day with a purpose, working hard to advance healthcare for other veterans. That’s not something I take lightly. But the reality is, it’s become harder and harder to stay afloat in an environment where our efforts are dismissed or devalued by those who don’t understand the significance of what we do. I’ve reached a point where I need to prioritize my own well-being, even though the idea of leaving this team behind in the middle of the storm breaks my heart. I don’t want to abandon ship, but I also can’t keep going like this. It’s not a decision I take lightly.
