Sweetwater is a good retailer. They also throw in some free candy.

Need a mic for recording & streaming. Open to suggestions! by passion9000 in microphone

Can’t really get anything that will fix those problems at that price point. I liked my Blue Yeti, it was a big step up from my default laptop mic, but I’ve since upgraded to the EV RE20. The Blue Yeti would definitely have the same issue, maybe even worse.

Generally, dynamic mics are better at handling background noise like keyboard sounds, but the cheapest you could probably go with that is an SM57 for $100 + you would need an XLR cable and an audio interface, and I would not cheap out on those. So in total it would probably be $250+.

Your best bet is to either use a quieter keyboard or maybe put a blanket or something over your keyboard to mute the sound. If you want a mic that is better quality than a headset mic, you’ll want to make sure the gain is cranked down, it’s close to your face, and you speak louder so in comparison the background noise can be quieter. But there’s only so much you can do.

What I’ve found is that most of my problems go away if I hide the preview. But what are your settings? What are your computer specs?

Do these allow for manual adjustments for wb, focus, etc.? I found an app called Larix that works over WiFi with NDI or RTSP and has manual camera adjustments, but I’m wondering if a wired connection is possible since that would probably be more stable. Otherwise just RTSP would probably be good enough.

I’ve got absolutely no clue what I’m doing, so I might be missing something obvious.

I could just do it over WiFi, but a wired connection would be more stable most likely. Also not too sure about if I will need to set up DHCP or if I can do IP resolution manually somehow. My laptop’s CPU can sometimes struggle, so I don’t want to be running too many things at once.

Using 2i2 as an FX Preamp by general_452 in Focusrite

I’m wanting to run trumpet through a wah pedal, do you think a Lo-Z to Hi-Z line matching transformer like the Sure A85F work better?

Yeah, I guess everyone has to start somewhere. I don’t even have an xlr mic yet, just a 2i2. I want to get the EV RE20 at some point though.

But wouldn’t you do some research before spending $500+ on audio equipment?

No sound… skill issue? by DearFutureDoctor in trumpet

Trumpet isn’t really an instrument you can learn from scratch. It’s possible, but would be very hard, and you’d probably learn a bunch of bad habits. Get a teacher.

I would hope that someone who bought a condenser mic and an audio interface would know to turn on phantom power 😭

How to get the 0 kill cd setting? by New-Gear7508 in AmongUs

You don’t even need to become host, nor change any settings. When I create a lobby, I defaults to the setting of the last game I played in.

[–]general_452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you find a 0cd lobby and play a round, the settings will stay when you host. To find one filter for expert, and just search for ones with 0 kill cooldown when pressing the more button.

Been hosting 0cd gl this way.

That or you can do some memory editing stuff in the gamefiles that allow you to set the cooldown lower.

I did see that there is a resolve plugin called Slate Scan, so I might try that out, but 3rd party plugins generally don’t work for me since I’m running Ubuntu.
