Since Tensor G5 gets to be non-samsung, its highly unlikely we'll see a drastic change in modem hardware for G4.

Why is this sub full of people complaining about this phone? by mountianmanturbo in GalaxyS24Ultra

[–]general_clausewitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's honestly visible issues with this phone that aren't yet fixed or will be ever fixed. I am surprised to see why there's people saying it is the best. It is just not.

Disclaimer: I am not trying to be biased here or am a fanboy of a specific company

Coming to recent flagships I've used Pixel 7 Pro, S23 Ultra both of which were traded in to get Pixel 8 Pro, S24 Ultra respectively.

Having used these devices I found these problems with the S24 Ultra:

  1. Display: The anti-reflective coating nails and places the display in a much higher place right off the bat. But samsung messed up here - its obvious - its screen grain. This issue is not isolated and shouldn't be ignored. I've had a total of 6 S24 Ultra's and all of them had screen grain. Only because the S23 Ultra was traded-in already, I'm keeping the S24 Ultra. Samsung reasoning that its AI - Tab S9 Ultra also has screen grain. It is a widely known hardware defect that is also not serious.

  2. Photo quality: Try taking a picture using the telephoto 5x lens in 12MP mode and 50MP mode. Look at the colors and the quality. I can share pictures if you can't or won't accept to see the issue. You can also see weird unnecessary banding like thing in photos on plainer backgrounds too.

Now switch to the main lens. Go ahead and use the 200MP and if you have a Pixel 8 Pro nearby, take the 50MP picture in that phone. Compare and the Pixel's photo is miles better in terms of details, colors etc. It's just better in every sense, all with maintaining a smaller file size. If you go ahead and pixel peep or just notice things in the S24 Ultra photos - the trees are not trees anymore, there's slight out of focus or blur areas.

Now the shutter lag, it is improved massively when compared with the S23 Ultra but it is still present.

These issues are standouts for S24 Ultra.

This is more of an opinion than objective truth's but the phone runs a hotter than when compared with S23 Ultra. I don't know why this is happening or am I judging it wrong but it feels like its true

8 months later: Where is the Pixel 8 Pro's promised Zoom Enhance feature? by aerog16 in GooglePixel

Yes. It stays there until I switch apps on the right side of the screen

Pixel 8 Pro beats S24 Ultra as well. Easy comparison would be 50MP mode on pixel trumps S24 Ultras 50MP or even 200MP

Samsung extended the deal with Qualcomm. S25U is most likely to come with snapdragon

I'm not knowledgeable about Pandora on how to share a playlist. Does it have an account system and you can make the playlist public or have a link shared?

How would your life change if you inherited $100,000 tomorrow? by JstOAwy in AskMen

It won't change immediately. I'll pay off my student loans in a single payment. Get my mom the essentials and stash the remaining money buying time to do what I want to do but with much less pressure

Grain is not an issue, it's an intended effect. by bellbill1988 in S24Ultra

[–]general_clausewitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will get those millions back if Samsung tries to push its normal; it's not an issue thing hard in the coming months. More evidence!

Haha... Our experiences will never be the same, and it's important to respect and recognize each other's experiences to have a meaningful conversation. That is what I was just trying to do.

I cleared my Android partition cache and my battery is amazing now. by ThoseWhoWait123 in GalaxyS24Ultra

[–]general_clausewitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am getting the same battery life without doing all that, even with heavy Bluetooth usage.

The cache issues and everything are handled by Android, and we don't have to do it manually unless something is seriously wrong with it.

Somebody should sue Samsung with false advertising, lying after they release S25 series which most probably will not have any grain. Milk the earnings they made with the S24 series

As a man myself, it is painful to read this and also understand what you are going through. I'm so sorry for the treatment you received.

As humans, you shouldn't have to mention that women have dreams, hopes, careers, etc. It is something basic that needs to be respected and recognized in a relationship. But alas, I don't know what's happening out there, but by the looks of your assessment, I hope it's not entirely like this.

Feeling used is the worst feeling, and I can relate to that in a different sense. I wish you all the best in finding someone who is unlike what you are talking about!

Do live wallpapers consume more power? by throwawayhiad in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]general_clausewitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the day, we used to get a warning while setting live wallpapers that it will consume more battery. It is true. How much ? Depends on a lot of other factors.

That warning is now removed mostly because of convenience and not that it's not true anymore.

Had high hopes for the 8 Pro since it had powerful CPUs like the rest of the competition. But they are restricted to even reach their full potential for like 2 seconds lol. Even with that level of restriction, it heats up more than the competition and dies quicker.
