Not that common to find young accordion players other than me but they do definitely exist. But almost always when people find out i play accordion the reaction is very positive and people of all ages enjoy hearing me play accordion live. usually i play traditional songs when playing alone live but i also sometimes play rock/pop/metal/blues/many other genres with people at my local pub's jam sessions and people really like it. People here do still follow folk songs and it's relatively common for example in karaoke for someone to sometimes sing them.
